Hello Everyone,

I bought a used Jeep with my Dad today ! It came all the way from Texas.
I bought a 2006 Jeep Libery CRD 42,000 miles beautiful inside and out.
No lift.

My Dad and I took it on a test drive today, and it has a problem.
At about 35 mph it begins to make a noise, and you can feel a vibration,
up to 70 mph +- This is in 2wd of course.

It does not look like it has ever towed anything before. Tires look
original, and like they have 42,000 miles on them.

My Dad and I jacked it up, and put it in gear, and the sound and
vibration does not come from the rear. It comes from the front.

Any help is appreciated. I am combing your site for already posted
thoughts and remedies.

Thank you.

Renee' (scratching my head!)

I would bet on a CV axle or intermediate shaft or both up front passenger side. That's what happens to the gasers anyway.

grab the cv axle and see if you get a lot of play back and forth (perpendicular movement).

You could try tires too. Change each front out with the spare and see what happens.
