my 04 Liberty with 115k miles threw a code of Random Misfire and it was pretty hard to start. Once it is started it is no problem and runs great. I had just gotton gas so I thought it may of been bad fuel so I put some fuel injector cleaner in it and filled up with fuel from a different station. I also pulled the positive to clear the check engine light and it has not came back. Could it of just been the fuel? I am going to replace the plugs and fuel filter. Can anyone give me a diagram or some text on how to replace the fuel filter? and are the plugs easy to get to or is it crazy hard? I have not replaced the plugs for 65k and had that done at the dealer. Any help would be appreciated.

The plugs have 65k on them?? If that didn't cause hard starting, I'd be surprised.

Had a 96 Dakota with same thing. Fuel Pump was bad. If you have a presure tester, check that.
