Wow, New York is WAAAAY behind the curve. I was excited to pay 2.54 last night! I atually put 17.5 gallons in for under $50! $47.71 to be exact, LOL

    Refugee from LOST

I just posted a new thread, then saw this one. Does anyone know what happened to LOST? Is there a corruption in the host site somewhere? Maybe a jealous Hummer owner hacked the site and took it down! LOL

    Orange Peel

What the heck are you guys talking about? "Orange Peel? Are you referring to the texture of the paint finish? If so, I'm thinking y'all got ripped off. I purchased mine new in '03 and the paint was as smooth and glossy as any $50,000+ vehicle

    2003 Limited no ABS???

On the 2003's ABS was an option that I did NOT want, specifically for the reason that TJKJ2002 originally stated. I drove a Chevy Astro Van once (once), with ABS, but didn't know it was equipped with it. I ended up sliding across the entrance ramp I was trying to merge onto and came very close...

    Check out this fuel additive

Acetone, haha - I was gonna ask that, but you beat me to it. Acetone will not eat the buna rubber seals and gaskets in your engine. People have done experiments by soaking these parts in 100% acetone for over 6 months with no noticeable degredation to the parts or increse/decrease in diameter...

    Manual Transmission fluid change

On my '03 I believe the fill port is on the passenger side and it's a 14mm. I have 68,000+ miles on mine and I've changed it once, back around 45,000 miles. So far so good, but if you are a bit more concerned, check your user manual for the correct interval. Make sure you use the Synchromesh...

yellow sludge in oil fill cap

I think it would be interesting to take a poll regarding this. My question is, who has experienced this sludge that is running an aftermarket CAI vs. the factory air box or aftermarket filter such as the AEM Brute Force or K&N FIPK? I know I have seen this sludge before and I run a K&N FIPK. I...

HOW TO: Adjust Your Fog Lights

Hey, great write up! I'm glad I found this. I was poking around the other day and noticed the adjustment screw, but wasn't sure if that was in fact what it is. Thanks for this post!

HOW TO: Change your Power Steering fluid

OK, thanks. I am quite familiar with the oil filter so I shouldn't have a problem locating it. As for what I was attempting to remove the cap on, it is located just underneath the wiper cowl in the far right corner of the engine compartment (if you're looking at it head on). What is this round...

    fender flare problem

Your tires should not have caused this because they are probably rubbing on the back of your fog light access panel as are mine. I have this same problem with my tires. The flares are held on with plastic clips and riveted to the wheel well liner. Try gving a good push on them to see if you can...

HOW TO: Add a light over the back seat (02-04KJ)

Did you use a relay off the lights that you tapped into? Just wondering since you won't get the maximum wattage out of the lights if you're just tapping into them. In fact, I believe it would make both lights dimmer.

    Standard Tranny Oil

I went to a dealer to get the tranny fluid for mine. It states in the manual that this fluid specifically must be used. I don't believe you will find it on the store shelves either. I believe it has to be purchased from the dealer. It only cost $4.50/quart IIRC. You need a 17mm hex for the...

    Spark Plugs

I've always used Bosch Platinums in all my vehicles when it came time to replace the OEMs. IMO you can't go wrong with these plugs. They last a while and feel like they give a strong consistent spark. I don't bother with the +2, +3, or +4 gimmicky stuff. Go with the regular old tried and true...

HOW TO: Change your Power Steering fluid

My question is: How in the heck are you supposed to get the cap off? There is no way for mine to come off because it is trapped underneath part of the windshield cowl and a wiring loom. I can get to it enough to loosen it, but I can't get it off to access the fluid.
