found out what my problem was - a year later. I got a check engine light so I checked the codes. It was P0122 which can indicate a bad TPS and P1299 which could be caused by a vacuum leak. Something is wrong here...
Good luck draining "some" out! Once the drain plug is removed, it will drain fast and trying to put the plug back in will make a nice mess.- mberthia

Most of the time I change the oil myself and do not go by the qty but by the dipstick. I fill it until it reads full... Last few times I had the dealer do the oil change and they use a gun dispenser and select the volume required (5 qtrs) and just put it in. It was too high on the dipstick 2...- mberthia

wheel stud/ lug nut disaster.
Call a tire shop and ask who they use to repair wheels. This may be repaired. I got a wheel damaged once and the wheel was repaired perfectly. Good luck- mberthia

No check engine light - yet. 2003 with 72k miles. I did the plugs myself and I had checked the gap. Before, I do anything I will have to see if it does it again. It was starting to rain so moisture may have had an impact.- mberthia

Not sure exactly what the engine was doing but it felt like the fuel was cutoff for an instant like when reaching redline. I was in 5th gear (MT) at about 75-80MPH guessing about 3000RPM. Agree with you but nowhere did my post say that I was changing the rear oil more often than the rear. They both get changed at the same time - when necessary. 12k miles is not necessary...- mberthia

Some shops don't want to turn these rear rotors as they are solid (ie. do not have cooling vanes in the center) and may overheat while turning them. They don't want to be held liable. I read it correctly and understand your point that it's ok to put ATF+4. My point is that the TSB indicates that the KJ factory fill was MS9602 for 2002-2004. Look at the table. Finding out which is the correct fluid that should be used in an '03 KJ is getting confusing. The TSB above shows that the KJ 2002-2004 had factory fill of MS9602 which is ATF+4 red in color. yellow sludge in oil fill cap
