    its worth grabbing a cheap Bluetooth scanner and get an app on your ph, you can get them literally under $10 I use an app called Torque and if you get a cheap ELM327 you have to do a little fiddling, disable fast communication usually, most work fine to just pull OBD codes.     thats really weird to me, but I dont actually know how the tcase is setup... I thought the lever ran a cable direct to the tcase shifter arm and that arm was directly connected to the shift fork... so it if the lever moves it has to engage... is it maybe spring loaded somewhere in between?
