check out rust to see if there are any major components rusted.
If it runs, make sure there exhaust doesn't sound like there's a leak somewhere, if it sounds like exhaust is leaking check to see if sound is coming from the front (could be exhaust manifold) or the rear (likely the muffler)
Just measured all four, 21-21.5 all the way around. I started out on old ones at 18.5. So they're holding at 3" from where I was stock. Here's where I reported 18.5" before the work started: https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/ironman-4x4-kit-for-525-starting-a-build.78495/page-3#post-792369
A lot...
Some photos of the new parts and measurements. Thery included an air-down valve with the lift kit, wasn't expecting that. My son had his thumb over the one corner, (front left).
Mini-updates: I measured 18.5" at all 4 corners, did a visual inspection, there's a good bit of rust, but nothing beyond surface rust, at this point. Shop gave me a good quote on the work, so I went with them instead of doing the work myself. The shop said they needed new sway bar links and cam...
I think he's saying the opposite, that a higher spring rate reduces the likelihood of fully compressing the shock, as it is "stronger" and pushes back against the compression with more force.

Plenty of hockey pucks everywhere, now we just need sticks, right? Or is that what words are for 'round here, instead of kindness and helping each other with patience?
Jeep KJ forums. A Happy Place! Nothing like the mod making people feel welcome. Apparently there's only one opinion that...
Wow, you are a testy one ain't ya? That could have been a troll account, did you think of that before getting aggressive and rude? So I'll get aggressive and rude back, you aged, but knowledgable sacred cow of jeepkj that couldn't possibly be questioned! And No, I don't mind you saving me money...
All I want is honesty. I'm a big boy. I didn't buy anything from Teraflex at all, for the record. Frankly, with the vehicle as old as it is, the money goes to replacing parts with newer, high quality parts after a lot of time and exposure to salt. Is that not worth it?
Frankly, I've not seen...
BLUF: Bought Ironman 1.5" lift kit for 50% off (still on sale), where do I get bump stops appropriate? Current March 2022 availability of items is hard to find, and I want to update folks with currently available parts.
Howdy, been lurking for a while, finally decided to get started on...
