When my CRD did this, I removed my glow plugs and had a stream of HOAT shoot out of my #2 cylinder. I had a cracked head.
If you have a gasser, remove your sparkplug and see if it'll spin over. Hopefully its just the starter and not a hydraulic lock. Good luck.

If she's headed to diesel school, look for a 2006 CRD Libby with the 2.8l diesel engine. 05 had a 2.5l and 06 had a 2.8l. A little harder to find and most folks that have one try to hang on to them. Lots of mods available for the CRD engine.
