    OME/Bilstein lift - it's time

My reasoning (right, wrong or indifferent) for the top plate in lieu of the clevis spacer, is so that the strut can still be fully engaged in the clevis. It makes sense to me. I have no reason to choose the 5100 series over the 4600 series, other than the fact that others have done the research...

    OME/Bilstein lift - it's time

Frankenlift / Tommudd Special I actually just finished installing my lift yesterday! Same setup that you are planning, with the addition of the JBA top plate and the extra upper isolator in the rear. I figured that since I was already in there, I might as well add them. Also Tommudd said that’s...

    Side View Mirrors

I purchased and installed the OMIX-ADA heated/powered mirrors on my 2005 3.7 Limited. Plug 'n' play for me as well. If you pull off your door panel and look at the wiring harness for the mirror I believe there should be 5 pins on the car side of the connector for it to be plug and play.

    Preject Red Dawn

So an update to the Jeep... Firstly, I put the new prop shaft in, and what do you know, it wasn't the TC. Thank goodness for second opinions and a little hard work spent doing stuff myself. Next I replaced the tie-rod ends as my left side had some play in it. I went with the Moog replacements...

    Preject Red Dawn

Tom, Aside from the chrome trim, I really do like the color. This past weekend I decided to put a little extra elbow grease into her, and bought a clay bar and some wax; what a difference both of those make. I found a few spots of rust beginning under the paint (bottom of front passenger door...

Lol, y'all are incorrigible! $500 is definitely not chump change, and I really do appreciate the feedback and suggestions, but I'm going to let this one play out. If I don't get the warranty backing for the part that I'm hoping for, I will certainly issue a profuse apology.

    Preject Red Dawn

I promise to rebuild the CV if it fails again and the warranty is not what I'm hoping for. I do sometimes forget that those parts store are not the greatest...

I've never used Plasti Dip before, so I gave it a test run on the chrome grille. I am pleased with the results! Now we see how long it lasts.

Well... I'm not too sure if I'm going to need to do so. O'Reilly has a lifetime warranty on their remanned ones. So we'll see how well that works for me. They also have a sweet Dorman OE Solutions driveshaft that looks pretty incredible...

    My 05 CRD

Looks very Nice! That pontoon boat looks like a lot of fun, too! How much to ship that ARB bumper up to Alaska?

    Preject Red Dawn

Yeah... It looks to be rather simple, too. I guess I was just so relieved that it wasn't going to be $3,775 that I was alright paying $450 for a whole new driveshaft. In retrospect I probably should have just replaced the CV joint as you suggested.

Dave and Bert, I'm definitely happy that I checked. After I install the new drive shaft, and if everything is still smooth, I will be going back to have a chat with the service writer. All is smooth so far in my RWD KJ for now though. Haha, the part should get in in two weeks. Shua...

Drained the TC and the fluid looked perfect. Nothing in the fluid. Inspected the chain through the drain hole, and that also looked perfect. Technician at the dealership is full of... Pulled the front drive shaft, and found the source of my problem. The CV joint on the TC side is shot. I pulled...

    Preject Red Dawn

So... I got the KJ back from the dealership yesterday and they say the TC is shot... Along with needing a new front driveshaft. All to the tune of..... $3,775! LMAO Good luck with that. The plan now is to drain the fluid to see if anything falls out, and then maaaaaaybe open it up if I don't...

Project Red Dawn I needed a fun name for the Jeep, and I think that this is a good one. WOLVERINES! The following is copied over from my introduction for me to keep track of. I have decided to go with the tommudd OME 927/948 and Bilstein special (he should seriously get some kick backs...

    Hi, my name is Shua...

Thank you Jo6pak and renegade 04! There's definitely a wealth of information on here, and I'm loving it! I've found all sorts of new was to spend money. I'm going to post over in the members' journal to keep track of the new project.

    Hi, my name is Shua...

Tommudd - thank you very much! And I'll endorse you for those kickbacks if you need! Haha. I will definitely take you up on that offer if I come across something that I cannot find in the wealth of knowledge in the forums. The parts list that you've posted several times is rather comprehensive...

    Hi, my name is Shua...

...and I like spending money. That being said. I joined because I am looking at lifting my 2005 KJ LTD, and figured I could find a resident expert on the forums. A fellow by the name of tommudd has certainly delivered. I have decided to go with the tommudd OME 927/948 and Bilstein...
