So that would mean that both my outers are bad if both turn a few degrees in unison with no slop between them through the differential. At least they are not too expensive.
How is slight play ok if it is the inner cv joint but not ok if it is the outer? Both axles move 3-4 degrees in tandem so I have the slight play at both outer joints
I did grab the "can" like area of the shaft. Neither jiggled on its own. There was a small amount of play in the outer cv joints as the axles would move a very small amount and moved in unison with no play on the inner cv joints. When I checked the wheel bearings I had the whole front end up...
I crawled under the Jeep and the axles seem tight with weight on them, slight play but they moved together when twisting on one. Or should I raise the Jeep with the wheels of the ground?
I have a 2003 KJ with the 2.4 engine and manual transmission. I removed the front drive shaft with a bad rear cv joint hoping that was the cause of the noise but it is not. The noise comes and goes and is usually not present. Maybe once a week or so. There is a clicking clanking aspect to...
I have a 2003 liberty Sport with the 2.4, if that makes a difference. I believe the clutch is worn, as the ac will work for an uncertain amount of time then fade out and back in some of the time. Usually after it quits it doesn't come back until it has cooled off. If I run it till it quits...
I only had a little time Sunday to look into this. Getting home after dark in the winter makes it hard to find time. The back up switch has been disconnected for a few weeks now and yesterday I pulled the rear defogger relay, put a new fuse in and it blew when the ignition was turned on. When I...
I didn't know they made circuit breakers for cars. The fuse usually blows when the ignition is turn on. The back up switch is not the issue. When I first pulled the back up switch, the fuse did not blow right away and I thought I has found the issue, but while waiting on a new switch with the...
My signal lights are not working on my 03 Sport 2.4L manual transmission and factory tow hitch, installed at dealership. Fuse 39 is blowing and I have determined that its is not the back-up switch. How do you test the flasher and or multi function switch? The flasher does work for the hazard...
Does anyone have any diagnostic advice? Or if I am going to resort to buying new parts in hope of fixing the issue, which part should I start with? The multifunction switch feels normal when shifting between the positions and the headlights function properly. It is hard for me to see how a...
Umbra is not compatible with my iPad 4 but I am still able to view the forum on the iPad most of the time. Before Umbra I could not view the forum at all with the iPhone 5s.
Sorry I didn't include the info. I am on another car forum and am used to having that info included in the banner. I have a 2003 Liberty Sport with the 2.4 and manual transmission.
Every time I try to look at this forum on my iPhone or iPad, I get a pop-up for a $1000 Amazon gift card. I tried erasing my browser history but that didn't work. Am I the only one? Is there a way to get rid of this?
The flashers work with the hazard switch. I believe the flasher is for both the hazards and the turn signals. I need to back up and cover all the facts. I do have a factory hitch that I believe was installed by the dealership for the PO. A couple of years ago, fuse 39 blew while I was towing...
It turns out it is not my back-up switch. It worked for a couple of days with the switch disconnected but eventually blew fuse 39 again. I put another fuse in with the reverse switch disconnected and the fuse blew immediately when the ignition was turned on. How can I disconnect the rear...
