OK.. when I got home I tested the flapper thing...blue is hot, move it to red, Super HOT, then back it just hot, so I am going to say that works.. I also remembered my son had bought a recharge kit, so I got the pressure gage from it and put it on, ran it as directed and the coolant lever reads...

Well thats what came to mind when I read it, but I try not to assume.. So, I guess a good test would be to move it to full heat and see if the air temp in the vents go up.. and if it is stuck, maybe turning the knob back and forth a few times may free it.. unless ofcourse it is electronic then...
