Not sure about the heads. Is that something I can inspect visually?

    oil consumption?

My 2003 KJ seems to be going through a lot of oil lately. I've added several quarts recently, but hadn't checked it for a while before that, so it was probably going down slowly over time. Not sure where it's all going because there are no spots on the driveway. There's about 120K miles on it...

    CEL codes P0132 and P0153

Thanks again. Not sure I want to get that involved, but I'll keep it in mind. I passed the e-check so I've got 2 more years before I even have to think about it again. It seems to be running as well as can be expected for a 2003. I looked under the hood today and all the hoses looked good...

    CEL codes P0132 and P0153

Thanks for the tips. :happy107: I remember replacing some hoses a while back because they were falling off and split at the ends. I'll take a look and see if any of the older ones look bad. Air filter was changed a few years ago, but I'll take a look at that, too. Is there a way to test...

    CEL codes P0132 and P0153

I'm hoping for some tips on these. I was getting P0132 off and on for a while now, which is supposedly due to the driver's side upstream O2 sensor. I needed an e-check soon, so I bought a new sensor and replaced it. Everything seemed OK, so I took it to the station today to get tested. It...

    O2 sensor and P0133 code

Thanks. That might explain why it fits. I just looked under there, and it seems like it's definitely connected properly, so the plugs must match. I'd try to do the upstream one myself, but it looks like a real pain. Even reaching the sensor is very tight, but I can't even see where the wire...

    O2 sensor and P0133 code

It's a 2003. I got the sensor from Rock Auto. I'll take a closer look tomorrow and try to post a pic. From what I can tell, it looked like it was plugged in securely. This is the one I ordered. It said "left upstream." More Information for DENSO 2344217

    O2 sensor and P0133 code

It looks like there are different part numbers for up vs down. I got the Denso sensor. The idiots at the shop charged me 85 bucks to put the thing in, and I think it's in the wrong spot. I would've done it myself, but it looks like it's tough to reach and I'm sure it was pretty rusted.

    O2 sensor and P0133 code

I was getting CEL, so I read the code and found P0133, which is the upstream O2 sensor on the driver's side. I was taking the Jeep in to get the AC worked on, so I bought a new sensor and told them to put it in while it was in the shop. I just looked under there, and sure enough, the new...

    Weak heat causes?

I've noticed that my heat isn't really hot. It's only luke warm. If I turn the fan up to 3 or 4, it seems to blow even cooler. A couple years ago, I had this problem and the flushed the system, which seemed to help a little. Over the summer, I had a new radiator and thermostat put in. I...

    AC delete kit?

Hmmm, yeah this was only a quick hiss for a second or so. Oh well, I figured it'd need a recharge if I ever decided to fix it. The only thing I might miss is the defroster when it's raining and the windows are up. You know how the windshield fogs up in that situation? Normally I'd turn on...

    AC delete kit?

That looks like the routing I used, too. The 82.5" belt worked great. I spent at least an hour trying to get the pulley off. I was about to rip the whole darn compressor out! I had one heck of a time. After using some brute force and a pry bar (and some select words, haha), the pulley came...

    GF wants a Jeep

Good luck...I've had all kinds of problems with mine since I got it a few years ago. Bought it with about 99K miles and it now has 109K. Since then, I had to get the heat fixed, a new radiator, a complete brake job, muffler replaced, front "premium" speaker blown and today I found out the AC...

    AC delete kit?

I'm assuming that it won't blow "air conditioned" air anymore :( Hopefully that really won't matter too much.

    AC delete kit?

Cool, I picked up the belt on the way back from the dealership so I will give it a shot.:friday:

    AC delete kit?

Thanks, after doing some more Googling, this seems like the way to go. Can someone verify that an 82.5" belt is the correct one for a 2003? I found this routing pic on the forum

    AC delete kit?

Took my jeep in for the airbag recall today and also learned that my AC compressor is shot:blah: OEM part is about a grand. Since winter is approaching, I'm not in a hurry to have working AC (I hardly even use it in the summer anyway). Service tech says if I leave it as is, the bearings could...

    AC problem

Thanks. I guess my best bet is to take it in to the shop? If it's just a low charge, would that be relatively inexpensive? I hardly ever use the AC anyway, so I don't want to pump a bunch of money into this.

    AC problem

Been having trouble with my AC lately. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Today was one of the days where it wouldn't work. Air comes out, it's just not cold or even cool. I heard a strange sound, like something is cycling on and off, so I looked under the hood and noticed this...

    dash speaker blown

Thanks, I'll check that out. Well, it is a nice beater...I guess that's an oxymoron. I guess I should say, it's my rugged vehicle...that sounds nicer:icon_mrgreen:
