I started this thread just short of a year ago, here is the lastest on my stalling problem. First off let me say when the ambient air temp is above 60 degrees I didn't have a stalling problem,so I didn't worry about a fix thoughout the the summer months.
Last week I took the Liberty to my...
Seems a 14 mile drive is far enough and long enough to dry out any moisture. I would start looking at caskets. Moisture and/or anti-freeze in the oil is not good for your engine. imho
Will be less than $700 for compressor, dryer, tensioner, belt, labor and tow. Didn't plan for this expense, but my employee discount helps remove some of the sting.
Hopefully that will take care of the stalling problem. I'll check back and let all know.
So here is an update on my 02 lib stalling problem.
On my way to work this morning the Lib stalled at the usual stop sign. But when I tried to restart it, the vehicle wouldn't say running. So after feathering the gas pedal I was up and running again. After a short while I heard a bang come...
Man...that stinks. Your pride and joy smashed. Hey, glad to hear you are all right. My advice from experience years ago...don't be in a hurry to sign off on the medical settlement. Neck and back injuries can take 6 mos or longer to show up. Make them pay for tearing up your wheels, hold off...
Scorask,
"I have a 2002 Limited and I've had it stall on me a few times recently. I added fuel injector cleaner on the last fill up and it still happened recently. I noticed that it seems to consistently happen on the first hard stop after starting up, cold or not. I just went with top tier...
Well mine is still stalling. The service manager cant seem to get it to stall. Maybe I should ride along.
He gave me a can of Wynn's fuel treatment which I added to my fill up today. I'm not expecting to much, but we shall see!
Ok a new development. Coming home from work Saturday the Check Engine light came on, also noticed the shifting didn't seem to be normal. When I turned off the OD there was no difference in RPM's. My best guess is something is up with the torque converter or solenoid. Will have the pros...
I am currently having the same problem. Replaced the IAC and that didn't take care of the issue. Mine is an 02 model.
Also have been told it possibly could be the torque converter solenode, if it is bad it will not send the signal to release the lock-up torque converter. Vehicle will...
Also thinking of adding a fuel injector cleaner to the next tank full of fuel. Any recomendation on a brand?
Now that it is stalling more frequently, I'm paying closer attention to things like engine idle. Using the tach in the vehicle it's idling at around 630 rpm's while in drive with...
ok moparman, I did some research and IAC is for Intake Air Control value. I might mention also that there are no other symptoms. Idle and engine run smoothly and idle rpm's seem normal. It just stalls the very instant the vehicle comes to a stop and doesn't do it all the time. Maybe I...
Moon, the check engine light is not on. Thanks.
Moparman, what is an IAC valve and where is it located? My mechanical skills are somewhat lacking, but can do some simple task with some directions :) Thanks for any help.

1 1/2 months ago I bought an 02 Lib Sport 4x4 w/3.7L. I'm expiencing an engine stall when I come to a complete stop. Usually this happens about 3 miles from my house when its cold outside and the engine is warmed up. Doesn't not stall all the time or even everyday. Maybe 5or 6 times in the...
