2002 - Jeep Liberty Sport - Changing Gears makes my car Jolt / Engine Rev's... What do you think the issue is?

Backing up noises should be verified to not be coming from trans. Could also be from Emergency brake. Noises from ball joints not related to backing up.- Jimmyjimmyjimmy

03 Liberty worth saving?
I'd buy 6 new coil packs. I've had good luck with duralast believe it or not. And a set New plugs. Install and keep driving. Change oil every 3k miles....Who cares about compression if it runs ok.- Jimmyjimmyjimmy

Bad atlernator or something else?
I've let it idle with new battery and alternator for 20 min to see what happens. Years ago i had a rebuilt alternator from a big chain store take 15 or 20 miles to start to quiet down and charge consistently without warning light flickering- Jimmyjimmyjimmy

Noise and burning smell could be belt tensioner. 65 dollar part and easy to repair. Needs 15mm socket. As for charging 2 bad alternators in a row not impossible but unlikely. When its running can u see if any cables or wires are hot to the touch? Anything look melted? Could be...- Jimmyjimmyjimmy

2002 3.7l will not crank/start when hot.

Cheap AC Bypass **PICTURE**
Did this discussed bypass on an 08 Liberty. However - left the AC compressor in place however since there was still some AC in the system (though the compressor bearings were bad). so, I cut the AC pulley off (cutoff wheel) and left the AC compressor in place.
