    Flash a 45RFE to a 545RFE- Anyone done it?

I guess we will see. If it doesn't work, I'll just re-flash it again. I will let you guys know how it turns out, I'm planning on bringing it in tomorrow.

    Flash a 45RFE to a 545RFE- Anyone done it?

I meant our back roads are higher speed roads than a normal 30-40mph Roadway. Most of the roads up here are 50mph or higher. I understand the difference between lower (numerically) gearing vs the engines efficient range of RPM's which is why I get annoyed when magazines keep talking about...

    Flash a 45RFE to a 545RFE- Anyone done it?

So I just found out this past weekend that my 2003 KJ built in May of 2003 actually has a 45RFE tranny (Backwards angled cross member, TCM mounted on passenger fender, 15 bolt tranny pan). I was elated to say the least for many reasons- I've now owned an 02 Ram 1500 4.7, 04 Ram 2500 HEMI, and...

Tow Hitch Nuts Rusted out - Now What?

Good idea, it did come with some carriage bolts and metal blocks/plates. There are other holes in the frame I could probably use but was hoping to use the factory locations. I'm hoping to tackle it this weekend, I'll post up the outcome.

Tow Hitch Nuts Rusted out - Now What?

Well, I bolted up the driver side loosely so I could bolt up the passenger side. Once I started bolting up the passenger side the entire hitch dropped to the ground. When I try to reinstall the bolts you can now just push them all the way through. Personally I don't trust them now that rust has...

Tow Hitch Nuts Rusted out - Now What?

Yeah I am definitely planning on Grade 8, although the hitch came with 5's. I'm assuming stacking the washer/nuts will work fine though since that frame area is what supports the weight, not the nuts.

Tow Hitch Nuts Rusted out - Now What?

Hello All, I just purchased and went to install a trailer hitch on my 03 Liberty. The mounting nuts that are welded into the frame from the factory were rusted inside and basically stripped out once any weight was on them. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking of using longer...

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

OK so I jumped in it this morning to give it the test. I pumped the brakes until the pedal was hard, started it up and with moderate pressure the pedal dropped but not to the floor. It went to a spot and stayed there. I'm thinking my next step is just to bleed the lines and put new fluid...

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

Yes it is black. I do agree, I just meant I'd hate to bleed them all then still have the problem and have to replace the master and re-bleed them all wasting fluid. No idea, I just bought it a month ago. I didn't have a chance last night to check it, had both my boys at the house by...

    KJ: 1, Buick LeSabre: 0

Glad to hear you are ok. Sometimes its better that they didn't go off, they can cause more harm them good depending on the accident. The impact on the Jeep is no where near the sensors for the air bags.

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

Awesome advice, I'll give it a shot tonight and post back up. Thanks for the tip. I'm almost hoping its the master as it'll make bleeding the brakes more worth while.

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

The ones I got were from Advance Auto Parts, Wearever or something along those lines. Yes the other brakes were worn evenly.

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

Its full. I checked it after replacing the brakes and taking it for a spin. I first thought it was going to be low but it was perfect. I'll definitely bleed the first though. No sense in throwing away money.

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

Yeah I checked the calipers yesterday and they were all bone dry and in good shape. You suspect the master cylinder? Ok, thats cheap enough and easy enough to replace.

    Weak Brakes? 2003 Liberty

Hello All, New to this forum, but not new to Jeeps. Anyways, I bought this 03 Liberty which is in excellent condition with 86k miles on it. The brakes felt very weak when I got it home - If you slam on them, pedal goes to the floor and it took awhile for it to stop. I coasted through a stop...
