    A Fond Farewell

I bid my KJ farewell today after over 14 years of service. It was a really great vehicle. I also greatly enjoyed this forum and many of the people here. There are definitely some knowledgeable and helpful people on this forum. Here's one more pick of the KJ. It took 2 vehicles to...

    265 70 16 on Moabs

Takes more lift which puts CV's at worse angle. Takes more trimming. 4.10 gears are perfect for 265/70R16's, but 4.56 gears would be better with 265/75R16's, however you can't put 4.56's in the front, etc... However, once you get 265/75R16's under it, they definitely look good.

    265 70 16 on Moabs

A bit more difficult than 265/70R16's.

    265 70 16 on Moabs

265/70R16 GY SA's on Moabs with Frankenlift II Premium. Needed to flatten pinch weld and trim some plastic behind the fog lights. The lift is about 8 years old so has sagged a little, but still works well.

14 years old and still going strong

I appreciate the sentiment. Just took a rock hit to the rear drive shaft. It took some slight damage, and it damaged the pinion bearing, seal, and chipped a tooth on the pinion gear. It's getting upgraded drive shafts, new ring and pinion, seal, and bearings, as well as RCV's up front...

14 years old and still going strong

Glad I'm not the only one that has an older KJ that is still going strong. Really glad mine still runs great since I broke the Rubicon last Saturday.

Thanks, but it's actually not a Renegade. It's a Limited. I bought it in 2001. The light bar has been sitting in my garage since 2008. Decided it was time to install it. Wish we had installed it a long time ago. Like the way it looks with it a lot better.

    Engine upgrades?

Have fun. I'm out. Was just trying to help. Used to have the fastest KJ in the world.

    Engine upgrades?

:freak3: OK. Don't listen to any of us that have experience in this. Look to video games and dreams. The truth is that you can definitely build a blown 3.7, but to do it you are going to spend $10K-$15K by the time you properly build the engine for it. If you don't have a very early KJ...

Surfrenegade's 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade Spinal Tap Edition

Your KJ looks great with all the Line-X and the new Duratracs.

Surfrenegade's 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade Spinal Tap Edition

Line-X usually holds up extremely well. The warranty and them standing behind their product takes care of the couple exceptions when something goes wrong. The color matched silver Line-X extra done on mine in 2008 changed to this greyish green color. They fixed it and did it in black...

    Engine upgrades?

@OP I'd highly recommend just regearing to 4.10's, getting an aggressive tune from B&G, and be done with it. You will have a noticeable performance gain. To get any gains beyond that, you will have to spend huge amounts of money and you will break things and then spend more money to replace...

    Engine upgrades?

I was able to get over 300 HP and 350 LBFT torque to the ground with the 3.7. Took about 1 year to scorch a couple cylinders and ended up dropping a new short block in it. The heads were polished, ported, and rebuilt. I still have the bad short block in my garage because I was going to build a...

    90016 jet chip

I've got one in storage some place that I might be able to find. Been a long time. You do know that it actually loses 5 HP on the dyno though don't you?

It sounds like a flat tire.... but it's not....

Heard it off and on at first. Then it became constant.

Mine made a similar sound when the factory LSD broke.
