Stock Wrangler Wheels on 07 Liberty??

The Wrangler tires (if 225/75 15s) will be pretty close to the original tire height on your daughter's Libby Sport. The TJ steel wheels barely fit, and are extremely close to rubbing on the caliper. I personally haven't tried any other 15" Jeep rims, but I know the aluminum rims don't have...

    CEL for "small emission leak"

On my wife's '03KJ, we had a "small leak detected" code also. I did some searching under the truck and found a dry and cracked rubber hose going from the canister to the fuel tank. Replaced it last year and the code hasn't been back. Hope that helps!

If you find out where to get one, let me know too, I need one for the wife's KJ!

    HOW TO: Change Spark-Plugs

I tried it that way first, the only problem is that I've never changed the plugs in the 7 years we've owned it, so they were pretty well "stuck" in there. The first five plugs all needed some leverage so I was worried about breaking the swivel joint. The new ones went in smooth as silk with the...

    HOW TO: Change Spark-Plugs

I swapped the original plugs (7 years old, 32K miles on them) on my wife's KJ yesterday. Indeed, the color was decent, but the gaps were way off (some were out over .050!!) and the electrodes almost looked like they were cut on an angle. It was definitely time to replace them! As far as...

    Clicking noise-Automatic Transmission

I figured it was a Chrysler thing. My wife's Liberty makes the same solenoid noise, and so did my old '00 Sebring convertible.

    '01 Stone Blue Cherokee Stolen!!

Glad she got it back, mostly unharmed! I didn't realize the later model XJs were that easy to rip off either, kinda scares me a bit since I have an '01 as well. Years ago, I remember my friend's brother had a convertible Mustang GT, and he took it to a party by Rutgers University. It was...

15" TJ Steel Wheels "Kinda" Fit...

I've never seen pics of the SS III bolted on the B-body spindle, but I did remember hearing they worked. I had plenty of clearance with my old 16's and the 1LE/B-body setup, and have even more room with the 17's on the car now. :) You must be a fellow G-body nut!

What did you sell or trade to get your KJ?

Yeah, I know!!! She works close by so the miles don't really add up. Plus, she was pregnant twice and couldn't fit behind the wheel for a few months, so that kept miles off it as well. :) FWIW, the Buick she traded in for the KJ had under 50K miles on it, and it was 10 years old.

What did you sell or trade to get your KJ?

My wife traded in her '92 Buick Regal back in September of '02 for her KJ. We've racked up a whopping 31K miles on it in almost 7 years! :)

Your local Jeep/Dodge dealer may be on the chopping block

One of the site sponsors (Wyckoff) is on the list, and they're only about 1/2 hour away from me. I think there's only one Jeep dealership left in my area now, and it's not convenient at all to get to. Thank God I do all the service work on the KJ and XJ. I feel for all the techs that are losing...

P0455 and P0442 Engine Codes -- Need Help!

Looks like the same hose that failed on my wife's '03 at 28K miles. I changed it and the code hasn't come back in almost a year.

Clearing error codes after replacing a censor.

The easiest way is just to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 20 minutes; it'll erase all the codes, and also cause the computer to go through all the OBD II monitor checks as well.

    Fender Flare clips

My wife ripped the flare off her '03 some time ago, and I was able to get the clips from the dealer. The dealership ~should~ be able to tell you, but if you're in a rush I have some extras available for a small fee. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I have the ones that go across the top of...

    Rim paint question

I've been thinking about doing that to the extra set of '03 Limited rims in my shed, and installing them on my Cherokee. I just can't justify spending $500 on a new set of tires right now, since the 15's on my Cherokee are fine.

    Rim question

Sand might be too coarse and ruin the aluminum underneath. You could try something finer than sand (dunno, never messed with that stuff), but the easy way would be to use a paint/clearcoat stripping agent. Just remove the clear, then prime and paint as usual. Try to use a high-temp paint and...

15" TJ Steel Wheels "Kinda" Fit...

As long as the overall tire height stays the same, the PCM wouldn't know if you had a 15" rim or 16" rim. If your KJ has 235/70 16s, a swap to a 15" wheel with a 235/75 tire on it should be very close to the OEM tire height (according to the calculator here -...
