I believe I have the shorter shafts the last time they were replaced around 25K ago, and the intermediate shaft is still stock at 140K. What would be the implications of pulling away from the intermediate or diff? I'm assuming its not good.
A little off topic but I have a grey ARB bullbar and shortly after i got it people kept flicking their lights at night like my high beams are on. I'm thinking the low-beam headlights are reflecting off the bumper or something? I just flick them back with my actual high beams :-)
Actually, you...
I know from many of your previous posts you are not a fan of RRO. My RRO rock slider rails have been holding up pretty well (3 years i think?) and so have my RRO replacement roof rails. But I have not done anything extreme enough to bend them....yet.
I discovered that I lost my wheel lock key and ordered another one from the company in California. Luckily I had the sticker with the key code stuck to the inside of my center console or I would have been in trouble. Its overdue for inspection and I cant take the wheels off.
Love the Odyssey in my KJ. Its my 3rd battery (OEM, Sears first two)
in 11 (going on 12) years and by far the best. Deep cycled it about 4-5 times in the last few years and never had any issues recovering it with my Schumacher charger.
I'm in the rust belt also and am way overdue for crawling under my rig and evaluating the rust. Last time I did i needed to replace the oil pan that was almost rusted through. I've never undercoated but washed religiously; although I'm thinking of having it undercoated professionally soon.
This is a link to an old article about a KJ with a Klune-V Extreme Underdrive installed. I don't think the product is made anymore so you would have to look for a used one. If $ was no object and I could find one of these I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Replaced my factory one at 117,000. I am contemplating this shaft next (hopefully not soon!)

I have the Jeep stick on vent visors and they have been great for the past 7 years. Had to replace the passenger front one when a bird flew into it on the highway, which probably protected the glass from damage. Scared the heck out of me and my passenger though.
Mine is definitely lower than that. I may have to modify once I'm back to walking again. Lesson learned - next time ask the knowledgeable and helpful folks on this forum before even starting! Thank you!
Thanks for the info and picture. Once I see what mine looks like I'll consider cutting the mounting bracket too if it seems too low. I had to work late yesterday and did not get it back from the shop yet. Pics to follow.
Yeah, I'm using the mount that came with it. Did not think about ditching it, but may be the plan if I think it hangs too low. It was all shiny and pretty and cutting it is the the part I'm a little bummed about. Just called the shop to suggest ditching the mount but they already trimmed the...
I'm posting to see if anyone has this combo of skid plates: Skid Row engine skid and 4x Guard front skid (from JBA.) I'm still on crutches so I brought my KJ to my local guy to install the front guard for me. First things first the Skid Row engine skid does not have mounting holes for the 4x...
Sorry to hear about your illness and your engine trouble. I have a 2005 too that has had a ticking for a long time. I also had a radiator crack but took me a while to discover it and in the meantime I kept topping off coolant. My KJ definitely likes to be driven and not sitting. Hope this works...
My JBA front-guard skid plate showed up yesterday. Bolting it on this weekend. Then, time to do some measuring to see how much I have to dial up the front coilovers due to lots of heavy stuff added recently (Skid row engine skid, Front guard, ARB bumper and winch)
Solar charger?
Since my wife gets the garage and I'm parked outside a traditional trickle charger is out but has anyone used one of these solar units?
