I know of a few people who took their hitch off and then went in and got the "free" one. The downside is that for some people they got a hitch minus the ball mount, which isn't really a hitch at that point. I did not have one and they gave me the full deal, which I have put to good use ever...
I had that clunk for a month or two after I got my lift. I lived in a place with speed bumps and I heard it every time. Then it just went away and never came back.
