Can I Fit ANY 4.10 Gears by Just Adding ANY Steel Dana 30 Carrier into the Dana 30a “Super”?

The pinion gear is a different length on the 30a. The bearings will not be in the right place if you try to use normal 30. Yes they are hard to find and 4.10 is the lowest available. I had to drive over 4 hours to pull mine out of a junkyard.

Can I Fit ANY 4.10 Gears by Just Adding ANY Steel Dana 30 Carrier into the Dana 30a “Super”?

You can put 4.10 into a 3.73 case and carrier. But the pinion gear is unique to the 30a. No other gear set will fit.

I think you got in the last set of pictures, but as others have said, I too am not expert.

I wanna say you just swap everything out from the backing plate on, but it's been a while since I looked at it.

    Spartan rear locker installation instructions

I'd venture a guess it'd be the same for any Chrysler 8.25.

Can't say for sure, but I think the cover is the same as the housing size and shape is the same. You could look up a gasket and see if that same part number also fits the other.

Are non-ABS front hubs/bearings interchangeable, or are they left/right specific?

I apologize if this was already stated.at the time I bought my timken wheel bearings with abs they only offered one part number to fit left or right. The abs wire does come out directionally but was very easy to route on both sides regardless. Been running smooth for years now.

The damage usually happens when you get a front wheel off the ground spinning at high rpm and then suddenly coming down and getting traction or when the differential moves power from one wheel to the other quickly under power such as high rpm through mud or snow. If driven responsibly you should...

Jeep kj 2005 front diff leak and noise

Glad to hear there's no metal in there. Yes the plastic can be replaced with the needle bearing.

Jeep kj 2005 front diff leak and noise

If your Jeep is 2005 or later the "bearing" is actually more of a plastic bushing. It can be replaced with the needle bearing that comes in the earlier models. Inspect your cv splines that plug into the diff while everything is apart.

Shankster has some good pointers. Rack bushings and engine mounts were both replaced when I had my diff out. They were super easy to get to.

I agree with the above, I have the Spartan helical up front and rebuilt the stock trackloc when I regeared a bit ago. I've found that rather than using the brakes to engage the limited slips feathering the throttle works well without the drag of braking. I've got a video of my Jeep with one...

The gears are certainly not interchangeable, but the diff carrier is. Just ask the Spartan helical diff that was built with the standard dana 30 in mind that's currently working perfectly in my dana 30a
