    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

When you're doing it outside in an Idaho winter you don't take as many pictures as you should, but I do have a thread of my build on here somewhere.

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

When I did my calling around every place I spoke with wanted the rear axle to remain in the Jeep during rebuild. And that is how I did mine. There's no way I could have achieved the necessary torque on a bench. The front wasn't as bad, but I had to get on the bench too and sit on diff while I...

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

I'm near Ontario Oregon, if you end up going after yourself I have the bearing puller needed for the carrier and pinion bearings as well as some of the other required tools for the job. PM me if you want.

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

It's not too bad to do yourself if you have time and patience. You might have to pay a shop to remove old and press on new bearings on the pinion and carrier as they are some special tools. And get a big breaker bar for the rear pinion. I picked up a 4 foot one. The required torque is somewhere...

    4.10 gear finally Installed

I did mine myself.I have a thread on here somewhere. It's quite a project. I feel the most important thing is to have plenty of time and patience. It actually took me months, but I was doing it outside in the the with only small chunks of time per day to work. I also broke my foot during the...

    Front differential help

There's a small bracket that bolts to the left side of the diff. If it was missing I could see how your situation could happen. With all the brackets (3 total) it provides 4 mounts to the subframe in roughly a rectangular pattern. I'd think the aluminum diff would break before it would rotate...

    New to jeep.

Sometimes the latch doesn't release when manually opened. There's a little electric switch behind the handle that releases the glass. Try using the key fob to open the glass latch which may allow you to then close it.

    Rear sway bar

Nope, it's not a "fast and furious" car When was the last time you saw an insurance agent get on their hands and knees to look under a vehicle in their khakis? If they were going to disqualify a claim due to modifications, it's obviously lifted. If I gave the impression that it's unstable I...

    Rear sway bar

I've been running without for years, it definitely leans more in the corners, but not much. I don't miss it and I definitely have better articulation without.can't find the picture going the other direction, but you get the idea.

    265/75R16

I had 265/75 on briefly (they came with the wheels) and they rubbed a lot in the front. Both front and back of wheel well doing simple things like pulling in and out of a parking spot, and yes my pinch welds are flattened out. There's also evidence of rubbing on the sway bar, but I'm not to...

    265/75R16

Only when the wheel is stuffed in there, suspension bottom out on one side while extended on the other. And very minimal, nothing to worry about with the infrequent occasion.

    265/75R16

More rubbing and slightly less mpg than a 265/70-16. I currently have nearly identical setup as you and get slight rub front and rear. I will be buying new tires (soon hopefully) and go back and forth between 70 or 75.

Can I Fit ANY 4.10 Gears by Just Adding ANY Steel Dana 30 Carrier into the Dana 30a “Super”?

I've also not had any trouble with the aluminum diff and an LSD. I take it off-road and get the occasional wheel in the air. I also drive it like a jeep, not a Baja or KOH competition.

    Front Differential Bushing Replacement??

I don't remember exactly how I went about it, but I don't remember it being too much trouble. I either used my press or a ball joint press.

Carefully put a pry bar in the spring and pry the ball joint firmly into the knuckle.this should provide enough friction to get the nut tight.
