    Lockers or not

No, but I think that could depend on what transfer case you operate. With my select trac transfer case the DTT up front was amazing. Clawed its way up snowy roads like it was nothing. Before, even with the same triple peak rated A/T tires, i would slip and slide around a bit. With the DTT it was...

    Thoughts on Quadratec Moab

So here's something controversial I want to throw out there: I think most of the OE rubicon moab wheels are cast, not forged - a few production years might have been forged but most were cast. After reading up on a few of the jeep rubicon forums they believe their stock OE rubicon wheels are...

    Lift kit advice

the older RSX versions aren't available, no. But the successor to that shock RS5000X is available, yes. Check rockauto, though make sure you click "strut" instead of shock for fronts. That's just how they describe them... technically they're just shocks.

Lift faq: Read before asking questions!

An update: not sure ARB/OME changed their production from when this posted a few years back but here is the information straight from ARB on current (2021) OME products for the KJ: Front 0. Stock spring - 320#/in 1. Light spring - 375#/in 385mm height 2. Medium spring - 375#/in 392mm height 3...

    Lift kit advice

I've been running rancho RS5000X shocks for a year or two and they're very good, plus lifetime warranty. I'm not a fan of bilsteins, ride too stiff. If you go to other jeep forums, they rave about the rancho/OME combo. Just so you know, OME makes a variety of springs for the KJ but they're all...

    H&R Spring Review

Can you describe how: the vehicle drove on highway, on low speed roads, around bends, i.e. braking dive, corner control, NVH transmission, passenger comfort, wheel alignment, etc. and how it worked offroad, i.e. lift clearance, compression/rebound effects, etc. Thanks!

Correct OME springs for winch install

Had an interesting discussion with ARB this morning. Could be useful info for people. According to them here are the specs for the OME KJ springs: Front 0. Stock spring - 320#/in 1. Light spring - 375#/in 385mm height 2. Medium spring - 375#/in 392mm height 3. Heavy spring -...

    Noob question- alloy vs. steel

Really. Educate me then... Measure from backside of hub mounting surface to straight edge sitting on the outside edge of the wheel lip. Right? That measures 5 3/4”. Subtract the wheel lip (1/2”) and you get 5 1/4”.

    Noob question- alloy vs. steel

Got a 16” steel dodge nitro wheel in hand. Same width and backspacing as oem kJ wheels. Weight with center caps around 26lbs. I reweighed the stock 16” kJ steel wheel, it’s right at 27lbs.

    H&R Spring Review

I agree with you: looks better than the OME setup and sounds just about perfect for what I'd want. The HD OME setup looks kinda ridiculous. That said, I kinda think this is an apples/oranges comparison because you didn't compare the H&R setup to an equal OME setup. You overloaded the spring...

Correct OME springs for winch install

So is the consensus that 926 are too soft for a winch in the front with a winch mount (no ARB bumper)?

Correct OME springs for winch install

My original plan was 925 up front-that’s what arb recommends and what seemed to fit my needs. But after deciding on a winch and detours winch plate, I figured 926 was necessary to handle the weight. I know 927 is typically recommended on this forum but I’m really worried that they’d be too...

    Need help with OME lift

Tom - do the OME springs require a longer shock assembly than stock? I assume that the springs are the same length as stock but are stiffer and that's where the lift comes from.

    Jeep wheel interchange

Uh huh... but the Nitro's wheels mentioned were 16" steel wheels, which would be perfect for offroad. I have one on order to check backspacing, weight, etc. I'll keep everyone posted.
