    overheating

I was driving home yesterday and got stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway. Outside temps were about 100*. I had the windows down the whole time, but once I was back to normal speeds, I turned on the AC. It blew cool for a few minutes, then turned warm. I looked down and notice the temp...

    Air intake scoop

I dunno...didn't seem to make much of a difference. Too soon to tell if it'll increase mpg at all. I don't think it'll hurt. I don't plan on fording any rivers so I'm not too worried about water:icon_lol: I took the piece off when I was "dropping in" a new Amsoil air filter. I also noticed...

    Air intake scoop

Anyone remove the part circled in the pic? One thing I noticed about the little scoop coming from the airbox is that this little plastic piece seems to block it. The scoop is a nice idea, but when the hood is closed, I don't see where it's really pulling air from. I think with that piece...

    heat not very hot

**Update** Took it in today and it turns out that the heater core just needed flushed out. Guess there was some mud and gunk in there.:smoke2:

    heat not very hot

Even w/the temp control turned all the way in the red, the heat is only coming out luke warm. Fan seems to be blowing fine, but the air just isn't hot. Any ideas or should I just have a shop check it out??

    buckling seatbelt

Releasing is fine, and once it's buckled, it's secure. Problem is actually getting it to buckle. Sometimes the red button stays pushed down, so when I insert the metal part, it doesn't click into place.

    buckling seatbelt

Yeah I don't want to mess anything up and break it. Shot some silicone lube in there, so we'll see. Can't hurt.

    buckling seatbelt

So you'd think it would be easy to buckle my seatbelt, right? I've found that the red release button sometimes sticks in, so when I try to buckle the belt, it won't catch. I haven't looked at it closely, but any ideas how to fix without replacing it?

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Thanks. After a bit of driving at 35, it seems better than 33. I just wasn't sure how high I could go. The 44 max psi is when cold , right? So in theory, I could fill them to 44, even though they would exceed that once heated up? Not that I'd want to go that high, but I might try closer to...

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Thanks, as an experiment, bumped up the PSI up to 35 yesterday, and the handling seems better, bulges maybe a little smaller and the ride is a little stiffer—all OK with me. The max psi for the tire is 44. I ran the numbers w/the formula above and got a rough psi of about 30, which seems a...

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Here are a few pics. The tires seem bulge just a little bit at the bottom. Should I inflate them a little more? They're at 33 psi, which is what the door sticker says, but they look a little low to me.

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Nice:waytogo: Let me know how you like 'em. We don't get a ton of snow here in Cleveland, but sometimes we really get hammered. The city take a while to plow my street, so I'm hoping these will get me through that no problem. I might not even have to plow the driveway anymore:party52:

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Guess I will just stick with 33 since that's what's on the door sticker...unless anyone has a better recommendation?

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

So far they seem great. I was on the freeway today, and they weren't very noisy, and no problems with the balancing. I found an article from a few years back about how the NY State Police are running them on their SUVs.

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

True, the GYs were a little pricier, but Ry's post was pretty accurate, price wise. Mine were nowhere near 1300 bucks, which is a good thing:happy107: Here's another quick question: What psi are you inflating to? The invoice the shop gave me says recommended psi is 33 all around. I think...

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Well, compared to the regular-looking tires that came with it, they look pretty good. I guess they're not so agressive looking compared to "man tires" :Big Laugh:

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Good to know, thanks! Most of the Jeep drivers with these tires on TireRack posted good reviews. Maybe some of the poor reviews were coming from drivers of other vehicles. I think I'm gonna like the more aggressive look (Cheers) Will post some pics later if all goes well.

    Hey!

Haha :icon_lol: I guess this counts as "goodies"? I'm getting some Wrangler Silent Armor tires tomorrow, so hopefully this thing will be a real tank in the snow. Any of you Ohio folks (or anyone else, for that matter) run with those tires?

    Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor

Looks like I'm getting these installed tomorrow. For those who have them, what do you think? Most of the ratings on tirerack are good, but I was reading some reviews on another tire site, and some weren't so great. One review would say, "these are the best tires ever" and then the very next...
