    Thanks(biggrin) Anything I can do for that, or does it just need replaced? I'd try doing it myself, but I'd have to work on it in my driveway in a bunch of snow, so I'll probably just take it in to the shop tomorrow morning.

    Is this "engine too cold too long?" I've been having trouble lately with only warm (not hot) heat, and according to the temp gauge, it takes a very long time for the needle to reach the middle range. A couple days ago, the CEL popped on and the code is 1281. I had the radiator replaced...

    Can anyone diagnose this? It sort of sounds like a rattling/buzzing sound. It almost sounds like it's coming from the oil tube. Notice how the sound gets louder with the cap removed. Here's a quick vid: MVI 0242 - YouTube

    Well, in case anyone has similar problems, just wanted to let ya know I got this resolved. Turned out I needed a whole new radiator. According to the service dept, it had a pretty good leak in it. I also had them put in a new t-stat while they were in there. So far, so good =)

    OK. One thing I didn't try doing is burping the system, so I might do that to see if it helps. If the radiator is plugged, is that something I could clean out myself with a hose, or is it best just to take it to a shop and have them do it?

    Well, I got the proper coolant and added a 50/50 mix. It took about 2 qts to get up to the line. Hopefully that solves my problem. I can't believe I let it get this low! During the winter, I had to get the heater core flushed because my heat wasn't working. I wonder if it didn't get filled...

    OK, maybe I will just keep an eye on it. This is the one and only time it's happened so far. Although my drive to work is less than a mile, I haven't had any trouble this week since it's been in the 80s. Temp needle has stayed near the middle.

    I'll have to try the arm out the window thing. It didn't seem to be blowing that hard though. Could it be that it's only running on the low setting? I didn't have any trouble today with the AC on, but it's only in the 80s and I didn't drive very far.
