Learned a Few Things about the KJ Today

Hm. Not actually sure when my light comes on, I immediately start looking for a gas station. My 'Miles to Empty' display reads 0 by the time the light comes on, and I've not thought it wise to tempt it into proving itself right. :icon_lol: I think it usually takes about 18 gallons to fill...

    nullptr's 2005 Liberty

Started, finally, replacing the 'blown' speakers. Turns out they weren't blown, and someone at some point had 'upgraded' the stereo. If you count replacing the front midrange speakers with Dual 6.5" 50w RMS speakers an upgrade over the stock Infinity units, sure. Sadly, they really botched...

What did you do to your jeep today?

It's actually called, "Total Wine & More", but everyone leaves out the "& More" :icon_lol: It's the worst store ever. I always spend too much money when I go there. :party52:

I'm not really sure, my build sheet says: "-DB Dk/Lt Slate Gray"

Need Help w/ Dark Slate Grey Floormats

WeatherTech is the only way to go. Although I recommend the Jeep branded liner for the cargo area, as it's got cargo tiedown knockouts and is actually cheaper than the WeatherTech one. I've got the slate ones, it's gray.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Took it in for an AC inspection, since it was blowing warm at idle. At first I thought it might be a problem with the fan, since it worked fine when moving, but then I tried revving while the vehicle was stopped. Sure enough, another 500rpm and it started blowing cold again. Turns out my...

    Good afternoon, my Jeep friends

Welcome to the forum! What kind of vibration? You mention it's speed related, could a wheel weight have come off?

    METRA double-din KJ kit?

Yeah, it seems to be bonded to the vent ducting back there. I cut it off with a saw.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Not much today, but yesterday I did a little 'off-roading'. Well... I drove on a trail around a large pond. It was surprisingly varied in terrain considering how short it was (and for Florida). Immediately had to deal with an off-camber sandy run-off rut that had me scrape a bit on the...

Front springs shot. What to use?

If the springs are shot, the shocks probably are too. Don't use XJ springs, they won't work. The XJ had a solid front axle whereas the KJ is an independent suspension in the front, the XJ springs simply will not fit and are the wrong length. Your best bet is to either put stock ones on it from...

I figured out how to make the HomeLink system work

I had to try mine a few times, it's pretty picky about where the transmitter is located when you hold the button down.

    2015 Renegade?

That makes sense. Mopar also had a modified Cherokee Trailhawk rolling on 33s. I got all excited for it, but so far they haven't released the kit and it sounds like they have no plans too. Why must they play with our feelings like that? :happy175: And don't worry about it, I wasn't exactly...

    Is this a Trac Lok?

Looks like an open differential to me. Was Trac-Loc available on the 06? I thought they eliminated it and went with a braking-controlled traction system where it just applies brakes on the spinning wheel for that year?

    2015 Renegade?

That's pretty slick looking. I wasn't aware anyone was making any, every time I've searched I've come up with lots of nothing. I guess time will tell if these turn out to be 'real' jeeps in that they can be modified into decent off-roaders, or if they will just be mall crawlers. I...

This is Emily, my 3 year old... well, I'm not sure what she is, other than a goofball. Got her as a rescue. She likes riding in cars, her squeaky toy, and doggy treats. She absolutely hates squirrels. I mean, she loathes the little buggers. She is the Squirrel Reaper. :blah:

    2015 Renegade?

Is someone still working on it? Last I heard the various companies had given up and said, "The front end on this thing is horrible for lifts, it'd be too expensive to do right". If someone does come out with something, that'd be awesome.

    nullptr's 2005 Liberty

Thanks! I'm quite happy with it, even if it did immediately require a radiator and ball joints. But what can you expect at 10 years old? Me too! I got it at the dealer, cost was the same as the Weathertech, but it has little 'hatches' for the cargo tie-downs and says 'Jeep' on it. :icon_lol:
