    My new "TWACK LIFT" setup

Ok, I follow your thought process... 2.5" daystar plus 1.5" OME = too much. My guess is that with the settling and such you ar probably still arround 3.5", and I agree - too much. Still, the last thing i would do is trim the coil  Lets say that by trimming the coil you where...

    Alternator Clutch

Ok, so the "free wheeling" alt clutch is used by Porsche on the manual transmission models only. I can see that manual up/down shifting could put more drastic rev changes on the drive belts than your typical "slush box" would. I'd have to go look, but I think my '06 automatic has a direct...

    Help Identify these Floor Mats

Don't be afraid to take them back and point out their error at the top of your lungs! Be sure to include the salesman and service manager in the group.(argue) If it took 3 trips to get the wrong ones, somebody obviously just blew you off & pulled whatever was on the shelf - just to shut you...

    Woodie kit

Guys - come on... It's in the tradition of the mid '70s Grand Wagoneer! usa.gif Ok, so I'm shoveling a little bs1.gif Any custome car guy will tell you the secret to a sweet ride is two things. One, it's should relflect what the owner wants. Two, for the most part you can't mix...

    Garmin Jeep Liberty Icon

Corwyyn - You are the man! Just downloaded your handi-work to my Nuvi 255W, and had to try it out. Nothing looks cooler that being able to "see yourself" on "TV" Thanks again!

    Window Regulator Permanent Fix!!

It doesn't sound right, but is. Ive had the rear regulators replaced a total of 6 times. Never a front. Once for the passengers side, and the other 5 on the drivers side. The last one failed within 4 months, and the window couldn't have been up/down, more than a dozen times. From what...

Driver side window jumped track - HELP!

TJKJ2002, I'm an Arizona native (yes, they do exist) and 110 to me is nothing. I've even owned a few cars w/o AC over the years, so the high temp thing is trivial. But revese that and drive it on a below-zero day in Minnisota... Forget about all the issues kb0nly made, most of which are...

    Options with OME Light-Duty coils.

Artus, Looks like you're doing your home work. I too am looking at new springs with some added lift for the occassional backwoods romp. I was leaning towards the OME 926 (Mediums) and with J-Thompson's remarks, I'm sold. Remeber, the springs are only part of the equation. The new...

Did I read this right? 1/2 inch clevis lift.

Help! I've been... threadjacked.gif BjBnet, The "whoop, whoop, whoop" definately sounds like a CV heading south. It should sound worse the more you stress the joint - like when you turn. All, Thanks all for the help and suggestions on the lift. I think I'll start with the springs...

Driver side window jumped track - HELP!

Yes! Depending on where you live/work, and the route to get there, it might just be a safety issue - but try and convince a dealer of that. I couldn't get them to replace the glass due to the scratches caused when the regulator failed, and the rear drivers side window dropped out of sight into...

    battery light on?!

Start with the alternator. Slowly loosing power whike driving means the vehicle is running off the battery only. If the Alt. is bad, you may have also toasted the battery due to the constant drain on it. The battery will "recover" to some extent while parked, but not like re-charging it...

What power upgrades do you recomend?

Supercharger? Sounds good to me. I watched "The Fast 'n Furious" just to see them stand the Charger on it's tail! (bowdown)(bowdown)(bowdown)(bowdown)(bowdown) But I too have to wonder about the need. Besides, that kind of power starts breaking other things like motor mounts, transmissions...

    Uh oh! What happened here?!

You might want to check with the muffler shop, they have all the right tools (wish I had a fancy tube bender). I had them bend me up a tail-pipe on another vehicle, and it really was quite reasonably priced. They charged a flat cost for the piece, no matter the bends. Not to mention it fit...

Did I read this right? 1/2 inch clevis lift.

Thanks Tom and Tony, Like I said, I think I'll start with the springs & struts. I bought new tires about a year ago and would like to get another 25,000 or so out of them. (Yes, my wife drives the wheels off the Llibby - Literally.). The 235/65-17 tires won't look to bad (Toyo Open Contry...

    Uh oh! What happened here?!

I have to side with KJ924 and TJKJ2002. In my younger days, I too saved some money (I thought) by going the "clamp" route on a muffler replacement, only to end up at the shop (or a freind's) to have it welded propperly. More than once ](*,) The heat down there with the cat and everything...

Did I read this right? 1/2 inch clevis lift.

Thanks Tony! While we wait on Tom, I imagine with 3" I'm looking at Upper Control Arm issues as well as possible alignment problems. Are new JBA UCAs required as well? I'll probably be better off just going with the springs and struts (2") now as funding is a bit tight, and with 55,000...

Did I read this right? 1/2 inch clevis lift.

In the link listed below, TJKJ2002 tells us that we can use the KK clevis (1/2" longer) in place of the KJ one. http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40000&page=2 From what I've read above and elsewhere, if I start with my stock 2006 Limited... idea.gif 1. Change out the front...

attempted the clevis lift today no luck...

I knew there was a reason I liked hanging out here! I had never thought of reversing the bolt and using it to press the clevis open. idea.gif Pure genus!!!!!!!!. I'll file that one away for the "someday when I get my lift" file. Thanks again!

    Grabber AT2 update

I too had considered the Grabber ATs, but went with TOYO Open Country ATs. I would definately recommend the TOYOs as a good pavement tire, but they have also performed well in the rain / and mud, on /off road as well. With about 20K on them, I have no complaints, other than I don't get...
