    Woah, did not know that

Not only is it a good Idea to pick up a 2010 late in the model year, or even in early 2011 (you can find them) for the initial cost, but it can help quite a bit with re-sale. After all, if you're buying it new, there has been an entire year there was little-to-no milage on it. When you go to...

    Installed Run Cool Hood Vents.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever considered using vents off a boat? The type used to vent the engine fumes from the hull. It was a thought I had back a few years when I was trying to solve some overheating on a Scout II. Something similar to these...

    Need tire opinions

I just went to 245/75-16 tires on 16x7" Wrangle Rubicon (Moab) rims. With my "OME Springs only" lift (about 2"), I have slight rubbing on the front. This apears to be due mainly to the fact that the rims have about 1" less backspacing than the stock ones I replaced.

18" rims.. what size mud tires will fit with stock height

I know what these are going for in the local wrecking yards, and kinda what I need to get for them (less than wrecking yard). The only problem I see is what it would cost to ship them clear accross the country. To save shipping I would have to have the worn out tires removed... If I could...

18" rims.. what size mud tires will fit with stock height

I assume you were talking about me...:D I too don't believe you'll find an 18" M/T that will fit a stock Liberty. If you do, it will cost you more than new rims , tires, and a full lift. Like recomended, you're honestly better off with two sets of rims/tires. I'll explain why later. Let...

    brakes coming on at will

A "communications" error, may be just that. ChecK the wiring to the sensors. If buried to the doors, you may have compromized the insulation on the wires, or got water in the connectors or???

Awesome! my radiator has a new cooling technique!!

Living here in AZ, (I Imagine Florida too) there are two things you don't "patch" together. The cooling system and the A/C. If you have a leak, track it down and REPLACE the faulty item. While the system is open, new hoses, (Top, bottom, bypass, heater, and any others that carry fluid - as...

    Shopping for new rear shocks

Sorry, I've got to start going to bed earlier instead of spending all night here... I was under the impression you might be ordering new shock for an un-lifted Liberty with plans of lifting later. By OTT lift, I assume you have some type of spacer on the rear, therefore requiring the...

    Rear turn signals

I bought this nifty set of pry bars at Harbor Freight for doing all kinds of interior work. They worked quite well when I pulled the rear interior to instal the wiring harnes for my trailer lights ( I bought one of those that "T"s into the existing harness at the body connector)...

    Shopping for new rear shocks

You should be happy with the Pro-Comp ES3000 shocks. I ran these on a 98 Grand Cherokee with no complaints at all. The only issue I can see is if you are trying to put the Durango shocks on an unlifted Liberty. The Durang shock is going to be approx 2" longer than the Liberty shock. This...

    06 Window Problems?

I bought my '06 in late '06 from an independant used car dealership. The CARFAX on it showed it had been used as a rental prior to that. My firt couple of regulator replacements were handled under the 3Yr/36K factory warranty - for free. Under this warranty I had both rear windows replaced as...

    06 Window Problems?

Count me in... just had the drivers side rear done again (#6) after having it done (#5) in April.

    Does your Jeep's...

I don't know what the book time is on a rear window regulator, but I just had mine done again, and I wasn't there more than 45 minutes. That's from drop off until drive away... Maybe the're getting that good at replacing them due to the practice they get on mine. Now, it didn't cost me a...

    Any meaty tires in 235/65/17?

With a stock suspenstion, those should work. I've run those on a Grand Cherokee, and they are a good tire, but expensive. In my post for tire suggestions, ThunderBirdJunking had suggested these: "Cooper Discoverer S/T. Cheap and good. 245/70-17 or even 235/80-17." The size may be a bit...

    Any meaty tires in 235/65/17?

I know all to well of your problem. Until last week, I too had the 17" factory rims, and finding a good A/T was hard, and expensive. I was looking to replace these again, and as you found, tread depth is rather low, not to mention the 17" size seems to add about $20-40$ a tire. I don't know...

OK - Now for some MAN tires...

Before the wheels/tires I was runniong Toyo Open Contry A/Ts, on the factory 17"x7-1/2" rims. They where the OEM size 235/65-17. These where great, except I thought they wore out a little too soon. I upgraded the spring and shock combo about 6 months ago. Went with OME 926 (Medium) on the...

OK - Now for some MAN tires...

Thanks for the compliments! Why have a Jeep if you're not going to 'wheel it? We had it up to Sedona shortly after buying it, and was playing in the mud/snow with the stock Wrangler HP's - Ok, so there wasn't alot of playin' with those tires, but it did take a while to get all the "red"...

    HEY check it

As far as a "cheap lift" remember you get what you pay for. Vranes17 is off just a bit on the math, but I did the OME springs / Rancho shocks for right around $650. That's pretty "cheap" for quality parts, and way less than lifting just about any other vehicle. The rest of his "shopping...

OK - Now for some MAN tires...

Ok, here are a couple pre and post lift pictures. Got about 2" out of the OME springs (now that they are settling in) and about an additional 1" or so with the larger tires... Still pondering some top plates or clevis lift to level it some - we'll see...
