Here is the photo with the light rack on top...it impacts the efficiency of the car, so I take it off when I dont need it. Pretty easy to make and very inexpensive. I think I must have payed about $25 for the whole thing...
Just got the Jeep back from the dealer (has been there since Tuesday). I ended up with a broken CB joint boot and ended up with a new front left axle...a few hundred bucks later, it was still a great ride :)
Gotta change my front tires before the next run and I am also going to be building a...
Ok, I just finished doing some updates to my site and realized that it is past midnight...here are a few photos but for the whole experience please check my site at: http://www.carlossamano.com/sunflower.asp I'll post some more photos tomorrow, but in the meantime enjoy the ones there :)...
Just came back from the run. It was a great trail and we had an awesome time. We have a ton of photos to post but its kind of late so I will try to post some by tomorrow. Thanks to everybody that attended the run!
Update
Hey guys, just wanted to send a quick update...since we didnt have any takers for the camping section we will only be doing the SunFlower trail on Saturday without the camping part on Friday (this should make it a lot easier actually..) So, it makes more sense if we meet right off the...
Thanks for this post. I just finished doing my spark plug change and this posting helped a lot. For the driver side I didnt have any issues, but for the passanger side, I would recomend removing the coolant reservoir by taking out the nuts without disconecting the hoses. I also had enough cable...
Lets meet at the place where we will be camping so that we can be out everybody's way. We will camp off the Beeline Hwy on Four Peaks Rd. Here are the coordiantes: N33* 40.000 W111* 28.4533. We can meet there at 8:30 a.m. and plan to depart right at 9:00 to head out to the Sunflower mine. I'll...
Hey no problem. The more the merrier...we have a Land Rover Defender also coming with us, so its not a liberty only trip...just an off-roading adventure. See you there.
I usually keep a spare key that I had made at walmart for $3 in my wallet. If I leave the key inside the car then I can just open the door with my spare and start the car with the one inside. You could also hide the second set that the liberty came with under your rear seat so if you loose one...
Cool. I noticed on the TOPO maps that there is a little trail runing off from there but having not done this run before I wanted to check with the experts...It would be great if you guys can join us...also let me know if you are down for camping on Friday after work.
Yep, to use this set up for skis just place the skis where the kayak would have sat on this rack, then use another pair of tube and insulation and place them on top to secure them. I have used butterfly nuts to secure them and that way I can take them off easily. I'll try to take a photo...
Hey Robert, I have read that there is a bypass to the most technical section of the trail...do you have a GPS log or anything that would illustrate this bypass? Also, are you interested in doing the trail again? :D
Me and a couple of friends are doing the Sunflower Mine Run on Saturday, March 8. The plan is to camp the Friday night before and then head out at 9 a.m. toward the Sunflower Mine.
We will meet along Four Peaks Rd on Friday around 7 p.m. to camp (N33* 40.000 W111* 28.4533). Then the next day...
Have you guys seen this one? Looks pretty cool on a Jeep Liberty if you ask me.
Does anyone know if a Renegade rack would provide more support than a standard one?
