    I usually keep a spare key that I had made at walmart for $3 in my wallet. If I leave the key inside the car then I can just open the door with my spare and start the car with the one inside.     Yep, to use this set up for skis just place the skis where the kayak would have sat on this rack, then use another pair of tube and insulation and place them on top to secure them. I have used butterfly nuts to secure them and that way I can take them off easily. I'll try to take a photo...
