Since your immediate need is for a recovery point at the rear of the Libertad then yes, just put the physical hitch receiver on and you can worry about all the wiring decisions later.
A full set of skids and front tow hooks and a hitch install - that's a casual three or four man-hours. Or...
JParts has the Mopar front tow hooks for 83.27:

They are easy to install on an '06. No drilling or anything, just bolt on. I don't know if you want to go with a "generic" front tow hook that...
Dude! I must have missed this thread originally. Mary and I are probably going to do the Alpine Loop area mid to late September. Let us know how it goes!

Expropriated from black culture some twenty-odd years ago, I believe. Basically means "you said it", among many other uses.
"The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion...
Shouldn't be a problem. ExpeditionsWest calls it a 2.5 on their scale (Rugged Track: Not suitable for 2wd vehicles, or low clearance cross over vehicles. AWD required, Low Range preferred.), but it seems that everything they do is 2.5, 3, or 3.5 on their 1-5 scale. Martinez Canyon? 3.5...
I've only done Mt. Lemmon.
Let's go with Bull Springs Road then. We can meet at the giant cow skull (the parking lot of the Longhorn Bar & Grill) in Arivaca Junction. Get off at the Arivaca Road exit, turn right (west) on Arivaca Road and immediately turn right (north) again. Really, you...
Depends on the cable. Steel cables don't stretch much and so don't store a whole lot of energy, but those nylon web straps, they can stretch. And those yank straps... [cue the picture of the Wrangler with the strap through the cab...]
Mt. Lemmon control road starts in Oracle north of town and ends back in Tucson. It's an easy gig but it's close.
Bull Springs Road is about an hour south of Tucson off I-19 in Arivaca Junction and ends way down south of Patagonia on 82 (so long drive back).
Gardner Canyon (a shorter...
Sorry for the confusion - tow hooks on the front, that's the way you want to go.
But in the back, you can either have a tow hook, or you can have a hitch. If you are going to put a hitch on the back then don't buy a rear tow hook now because you'll just have to take it off when you put the...
On the north side there is the easy but bumpy trip up the backside of Mt. Lemmon. South of town check out Gunsight Pass, Bull Springs Road, or Gardner Canyon.
I'm gonna weenie out, the LOST people have pretty much talked me out of this run. They are under the impression that this is not a stockable trail, and this *is* my tow vehicle.
Like I said, if you are in Tucson, we can still try to hit one of the Tucson trails.
Note that if you're planning on putting in a hitch at some point, the rear tow hook would have to come out - they can't coexist. Just another fun Liberty fact.
I'm keeping a close eye on the weather, right now the forecast is looking a little dicey - 30% chance of rain all day, not just in the afternoon. I don't want to be in there if it could be raining anywhere within twenty miles.

We'll see how it works out. Of course if you're just going to be in Tucson, there are some trails south of town - Gunsight Pass, or Gardner Canyon, or Bull Springs Road.
If we're going to go in the Box Canyon route, let's go ahead and meet up at the Price Station Road turnoff, which is right where the tracks cross 79 north of "downtown" Florence. South side of the tracks, east side of 79.
Or, if you want to do an easier way in we could do Cottonwood Road or...
Is that the Coke Ovens trail down to the river and out the Battleaxe? The Coke Ovens are on private property and apparently the owner has declared them off-limits, I don't know how much of that trail is closed off.
I'm well stocked with straps - a good 30' yanker, 5' and 25' tree protectors, and a nylon web strap or two. Not to mention a cheesy come-along and a hi-lift jack.
