    buffing

i would still claybar first, theres bound to be some contaminants in the paint already, plus it will make it even smoother in the long run.

    Im going to Indianapolis!

Sounds neat. Last summer there was a meguiars demo that was for demoing techniques and showing products here in wisconsin. I prepped the car, and drove the car to the site that they were having the demo at, which happened to be a commemrative mustang event at an airfield close to where I live...

    rust problems

After I purchased my KJ, i found an old service order from a dealer underneath one of the seats. The service order was for warranty repair work to fix rust on the rear tailgate. Whoever did the work did an excellent job because i cant even tell where it was fixed, but i am guessing probably the...

    Hitch Installed..Couple questions

the drop or rise of the ball mount depends on the height of the trailer coupler when the trailer is level. It also depends on the end of the couple on how close it can come to the spare tire. You will probably want an extended ball mount. It will take about 14-16" to extend past the spare tire...

    Orbital or Rotary Buffer

I would stick with a porter cable polisher (7424), i would not recommend a rotary to anyone that doesn't have experience. The porter cable is going to be safer for basic use, it will take a little more to get out swirls and scratches but will be safer for someone who doesn't have the experience...

    Orbital or Rotary Buffer

I agree there are times when only an rotary buffer will work. Personally I only use a rotary as well. I own a Dewalt rotary and thats what I do all my detailing with. I agree with tjkj2002 that if you are using the right products you should be able to remove swirls and not have to worry about...

Any good way to get swirls out?

its going to be harder to remove them by hand. The easiest way is to remove them via a buffer-either orbital or preferably rotary. Maybe sometime if you are up this way I could help you out with everything.

    Clay bar???

OK lets settle this once and for all, unfortunately you are not paying attention to what he was saying, and it doesn't matter "how many cars you have painted" he was taking about the very bottom of the front and rear bumpers, along with the sides also, that is all UNPAINTED plastic, look at the...

    Clay bar???

no claybars are not a one time use thing, keep kneading the clay over and over until you get a clean surface to work with. As far as the quick detailer, you can use that as a lubricator for the clay, keep the clay nice and wet. Honestly it isn't necessary to use the quick detailer as the lube...
