    I bought some Castrol ATF+4 last year at either Walmart or Canadian Tire... pretty sure it was CTC though cause I normally stay away from Wally World.

    Yup. But also hard to separate because of the clip holding it together...make sure you have those as well if you are going to replace the cv and shaft....SURPRISE!! :happy175:

    I had to whack the cv axle to seperate it from the intermediate shaft. sometimes they are stuck together pretty good. I was able to hold the whole thing up in one hand while I hit the cv assembly with a sledge hammer...watch it doesn't fall on your feet

    next, take the passenger side apart and check that intermediate shaft... make sure you have a 36mm socket...

    if you're not sure, take the caliper and pads off....that's how free it should be. Then start over again and with everything on spin the wheel. It's normal to hear the pads rub a little tiny bit sometimes but there shouldn't be any pressure. Does your Jeep move forward, in Drive, on its own...

    That happened to me just once. I climbed inside, opened the access panel in the door and played with the connector.... tried the door again and it worked. Was just a bad connection in my case.

    by the way, find out where you can get the parts in your area before you take it apart, that way you can get them sooner if your parts are worn. Got mine at a local scrap yard, against a few people's recommendations, and after 2 years it's still going on strong...it's a matter of watching what...

    take it apart already and eliminate the possibility :freak3: Only on the passenger side, if the shaft is bad so is the cv joint... That's life

    it's connected to the CV joint on the passenger side There are a couple pics in this thread http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44892&highlight=intermediate The splines on the end of the shaft get all "chewed" up
