off roading wastes gas too, but we all like to do it revving a cold engine is all the more reason to let if run for a few minutes in cold weather anyway, I guess you haven't had that trip that when it is so cold, like it is now the thermostat doesn't open enough to get any real heat going in...- wingnuts

Oil Light comes on at Idle but not above 1000rpm's
I don't remember the specifics, but do remember reading at some point that synthetic oil responds differently and can actually cause a lower oil pressure at lower RPMs because it is less viscious but does a better job lubricating- wingnuts
