What did I do wrong with plugs?

By the way, in case anyone searches for this later on, the check-engine light went off this morning. Evidently, the codes do go away eventually. Kept me from having to re-program the radio.

I used a sirius connect home car dock with a starmate 4 in it. That way, I could get headunit-controlled satrad, and just yank the receiver out and take it inside at home. The receiver was mounted on the side of the driver's seat...

What did I do wrong with plugs?

I just replaced it and things are running well, though the check-engine light is still on. Last night I searched and read every spark plug post on this board before posting myself. I read somewhere that the PCM shuts down the fuel injectors for a cylinder if it's not firing. Is that true...

What did I do wrong with plugs?

I swapped two coil packs (between 2 and 4) and still got the cylinder 4 misfire and rough idling. Then I swapped plugs between cylinder 1 and 4 (since 1 is easiest to get to.) Now I get codes for cylinder 1 and 4 misfiring. Do the codes clear themselves when the problem goes away or do they...

What did I do wrong with plugs?

Yeah. I completely disconnected all the coils. Everything else was done according to hoyle as well.

What did I do wrong with plugs?

Thanks. I'll check it first thing in the morning. Well, maybe first thing after it warms up. ;)

What did I do wrong with plugs?

That makes sense. What is the pattern for numbering that Jeep used?

What did I do wrong with plugs?

The code I get (wasn't aware you could check yourself) is P 0304, which means "cylinder 4 misfire."

What did I do wrong with plugs?

[SOLVED] What did I do wrong with plugs? I'm gonna be the first to admit 'tardation on this one. I've never had any trouble changing plugs on any previous vehicles. This is the first time I tried on the Liberty and even read the HOWTO here first so there wouldn't be any surprises. It went...

HOW TO: Install an EVIC or OTIS (overhead computer)

I believe some have had success making their own harnesses out of floppy-drive power connectors. If it works, it could cheapen the whole process a lot.

The metal acts as a ground plane, you ham. ;) And yes, plastic/glass don't stop satellite signals. That's why you can buy plastic rocks and plastic eave vents for specialized, out-of-sight satellite dish installations. The only caveat would be for people who have metallic coatings on their...

Make sure to check your dimmer settings. There is one called "auto" that does it by time of day. That might be it. The manual (if anyone reads those things) isn't the best. Same here. Between pandora, last.fm, and slacker, as long as I have decent cellular coverage, I really have no need...

That's my problem. The idea of having a snazzy headunit without a CD palyer sounds nice, but by the time I get that Alpine doing what my current one does with HD-radio, bluetooth, etc., it's turned into a $400-500 radio. Just browsing crutchfield, it seems like Alpine and Kenwood are two of...

    Satellite radio options.

I've subscribed to both services at some point or another and cancelled when they dropped my favorite genre after the merger. There's not much difference. Both XM and Sirius are one company now and both now offer packages that share popular content from both services on each other's equipment...

Do those Alpine media receivers sound as expensive as they cost? I looked and drooled at them when I was putting in my last headunit. I couldn't justify the cost...especially with how proud Alpine is of their add-on boxes for bluetooth, etc. I see why you have that old XM receiver, rather...

One other point to consider is that with those JVC units, the bluetooth isn't really built-in. It may say it has 2 USB ports (front and rear) but one of them has a USB bluetooth dongle in it. It's the same hardware you'd buy at a computer store if you were looking for a...

It's been done. I've even seen one of those carputer buffs who took two KJ bezels and some fiberglass and made a custom bezel including his 7" touchscreen control for the carputer. It was slick, but definitely beyond my patience level.

Today's tilt switches rarely use mercury. They have a rolling, steel ball that makes contact. But the term "mercury switch" just stuck because people know what you're talking about.
