    carrying 2 or 3 bikes!

Spare me I have a Thule 963 (spare me) on my spare. I've transported two bikes, both hybrids, probably around 15 pounds each on highways and residential roads, no problems. Now, this model will ONLY hold two bikes, so if you want a third on there, you'll probably have to get a hitch-mounted rack.

    Slowly losing coolant

First, I have had some dealings with DC in the past and they have been less than great. Second, if it IS covered under the warranty, I wouldn't put it past them to try to cover up the true cause so they don't have to fix it for free. That's why I used an independent third party (Blackstone) to...

    Slowly losing coolant

Warranty? If it is either of those things, what is the likelihood they will be covered by the 7/70 warranty I have on the powertrain?

    Slowly losing coolant

Good news! I sent in a sample of oil to Blackstone labs at my last change. They found NO antifreeze in the oil (I had run conventional 5W30 for 2,000 miles). Molydenum was higher than average, 110 compared to a universal average of 77. They didn't comment on that, so I assume it's not a big...

    Used KJ Price Opinion

I agree that sub-$11,000 is certainly possible. First, Libertys get notoriously low mileage. In this economy, with these gas prices, the dealership will have a hard time unloading low mpg vehicles. Second, as mentioned before, there's a huge mark-up on trade-ins. Guarantee they gave the...

    Spare tire bike rack

Hey all. I recently purchased a Thule 963 (Spare me) bike rack. I know the owner's manual says never mount more than 50lbs, INCLUDING the spare, on the rear mounts. I mounted the rack and have transported two bikes simultaneously that each probably weigh around 20lbs. Am I likely to start...

    First DIY spark plug change

extra clearance We moved the coolant reservoir for extra elbow room. The plug closest to the firewall on the relative passenger side is tricky to get to if the coolant is still in place. Moving the reservoir only required removal of two nuts (insert pun) and two hoses.

    First DIY spark plug change

Bought the plugs, necessary socket and extension, anti-seize and dielectric grease this week. A friend came over who has vastly more experience than me working on cars and we got to work. It wasn't bad, though the first coil we pulled was a bastard to get out, the rest were easier. The...

    Slowly losing coolant

small amount lost I don't know exact measurement, but I would say over the course of a month I lost maybe 5-6oz. I am changing the spark plugs later this week, I will check their cleanliness.

    Slowly losing coolant

I have an '03 KJ, 50k miles. Since I purchased it last year, I have noticed that I very slowly lose coolant in the reservoir. There's never a puddle under the jeep in the mornings. I never smell coolant when running the heat/AC. The oil is clean when I change it and when I pull the dipstick...
