    Best source for REMAN engine?

I've enjoyed my KJ, it's been solid for me. I keep the oil changed, the PO, a former coworker did the same. But, starting to hear some valve chatter and considering down the road replacing the engine to give her new life as I don't do car notes, prefer the ease of wrenching myself which the KJ...

    Mystery leak

Ok seems to be coming from the filter area. I"ll try a new filter after an inspection of the area and threads. But it did not crossthread, it spun on with ease as usual. Maybe there's a hole or defect with the filter.

    Mystery leak

I drove to work, stayed 3 hours, no drops. I get home, park in the carport, 45mins later a few drops. When the sun goes down, the UV glasses and light come out.

    Mystery leak

Let me preface with I recently rebuilt the rear brakes and front driveshaft so the Jeep sat for about three weeks. Prior to this with daily driving, I never noticed any major leakage when parked etc. I did change the oil after the above work. I started by inspecting the bottom engine...

I still have some play from front joint, but no noise. How much play is normal?

    Front driveshaft replacement

Got it done. Old bearing was a beast to get off the spline. I still have some play, but no noise. How much play is normal?

    Front driveshaft replacement

I got it sorted, made more sense once out. Wire brush and painting the shaft while it's out. The front does have an accordion style boot over the spline, and the ME807 kit showed what appeared to be a replacement boot which threw me off. All is well, onward. More pics coming as I've got some...

    Front driveshaft replacement

Yes grease is in a pouch, and the boot diaphragm is in the housing. What I assumed to be the shaft boot indicated by the red arrow threw me off as it looks like the boot that's currently on the front of the shaft so I thought I was missing a part. I've attached the picture of my kit contents.

    Front driveshaft replacement

no boot but there's a boot clamp. So the cv joint goes to the rear where I pinpointed the play? The one hidden partially under the brace? And if there was a boot, it would replace the one on the front? The red arrow points to the boot is the one not in the kit, the blue arrow points to the...

    Front driveshaft replacement

I am noticing the play noise on the rear end towards the transmission which the ME807 kit does not address. https://youtu.be/7cGRzlXzwVU Or am I turned around, this is the the rear ME807 kit? The boot has me thrown off as it goes on the front. EDIT: opened the kit, no boot, so must be a...

    Front driveshaft replacement

I ordered it yesterday, on its way. I was just curious why it was now cheaper. I didn't want to order an inferior quality kit.

    Front driveshaft replacement

Thanks, the kit seems to be priced all over though I see this vendor recommended multiple time on here. Did they drop the price as it was quoted recently being priced at $50. A similar kit is $170 on Autozone.

    Front driveshaft replacement

What are the part numbers? I see on this post http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f196/front-drive-shaft-57921/index3.html you mention the rear being ME807, what other parts are needed to complete the rebuild? I assume spline and boot kit with CV joint are what's needed for rebuild...

    Front driveshaft replacement

I took my KJ to a reputable 4WD shop to have my recent suspension update inspected as I've had some pops, creaks. All components checked out. However, the front driveshaft has a lot of play and is the culprit of some of the noise. Which REMAN brand provides the best quality or is it best to...

    Rear brake drag/caliper failure/hose

I have bled the system 3 times with a Mighty Vac until lines were bubble free. I followed FSM, pass rear, driver's rear, pass and drivers. All connections and valves are tight, no leaks. Stumped why the pedal is still spongy. Any suggestions?

    Rear brake drag/caliper failure/hose

Finally got it all done after taking a break to do some house projects. Bled the system, drivers front caliper bleed valve is rounded off. I will try with my vice grips tomorrow, worst case, new caliper. This was a pain in the rear to replace all of this. For posterity, avoid Sunsong (NAPA...
