Thanks for the compliments Bob. :-). My renegade didn't actually come with the light bar, so there was no original switch. I had the light bar installed on the roof. And I installed the switches in the dash. but one is not connected to the other yet, since the electrical work isn't...
Impact guards
The impact guards ( or window button guards) on the center console are actually matte chrome (which is basically satin silver) drawer pulls. They look just like old NASA or military control panel switch guards and the finish matches the console. Pretty awesome right? Lol...
Yeah, I didn't necessary start out trying to do something Steampunk or Dieselpunk looking, but as i took things further and further, and had more fun with it, I did realize at one point that it did start to have a SciFi Dieselpunk look. So who knows maybe some comic con cosplayer will buy it...

Maybe I'll be a case modder in this life. ;-). I'll add it to my list of creative pursuits. I paint, draw, and photograph. I reclaim vintage things and make furniture. I make frames, jewelry, random inventions, radio controlled vehicles and even rc ornithopters. Given my variety of...
Yep, most everything was hand made on the cheep. This is first time I have ever used my artistic skills on a vehicle before but it's turning out awesome. I plane to show it around after I finish it and then sell it if the price is right. If not I'll keep it forever. Lol
Thanks for the compliments. :-). At first I took some simple satin silver bezels made for the wranglers and dremeled all of the stuff off of the back of them and glued the trim pieces around the existing liberty vents. See attached pics. But it restricted the vent movement a bit...
I actually double layered the steering wheel with two different leather covers for added comfort. I knew I wanted the custom stitched on kind, and two tone black and gray. But given that the quality of what you are buying off the internet is a question mark, I ordered 2 different covers - one...
Thanks. :-). It's been A LOT of work getting to this point. And I still have the windshield pillars, the door interiors, and the steering wheel to do on the inside. As well as some custom work on the outside. But it's a labor of love.
exterior photos -
Here are a couple exterior photos. It sits almost 4" higher than when I bought it. Thanks to a skyjacker lift kit and aggressive tires. It still needs a full size spare tire and I have plans for a one of a kind rack. And I'd like to remove the rear trunk area windows and...
OscarMike/Howard Hughes Liberty Concept - work in progress
Ignoring the timeline of history..... What if Jeep had made an Oscar Mike edition of the first generation Liberty... And what if industrial age aviation inventor Howard Hughes had been asked to design it... What would that kj look...
Well mine definitely does not turn. And I'm pretty sure I have a whole different socket than you guys. I tried to take photos but my phone is full and won't let me take any more. GRRR...
I did get the gray wiring plug to release from the orange part of the socket. It turns out that there...
Thanks guys for your help. I didn't get a chance to pull it back apart and take a photo, but I do have a couple questions before i try it again -
So john, which side of the gray plug is the button on? Drivers side or passenger side?
And Bob, where exactly is the button or tab connecting the...
Sorry for the confusion. When I say "lighter" I'm talking about what you call the socket part I guess, or the female part, or the 12v power outlet. The part located inside the dash. I just edited my post to try to make it more clear. Thanks.
Help removing stuck lighter socket/12v outlet
Hello guys - first let me say that I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I recently bought a 2006 liberty renegade, and I am in the middle of giving it a major makeover into a "concept car". It came with the carbon steal console bezels...
