Having a harder time than I thought moving my MOAB's - might end up using them.
So, with 255-70-16's - on 16" MOAB's - what's the unmodified pinch weld rubbing potential? I could even stand to go down another size if there's a potential. I'll have at-least a proper 2.5" lift installed before.
I agree ... reading through now 100's of posts, it seems there are always multiple answers / experiences.
So, in case I don't sell/trade out of my MOAB's, to confirm - "255-70-16" is the safest tire size with no trimming, hammering, or re-gearing?
Continuing my hours of reading, I found these two (2) posts to be helpful with my question, but didn't hit my specific need-to-know:
>>> Rookie needs help with tires/rims before I make a costly mistake
>>> 245/75-16/2.5" lift/pinch weld rubbing question
I'm looking for guidance on this ...
Thanks for that, I'm willing to go down a tire size to avoid the rubbing. With the wider MOAB's, I was worried I made a mistake vs. just getting a set of aluminum Liberty rims.
But, the pinch weld mod is avoidable - even with the MOAB's - as long as I lift up at-least 3". Right? I read somewhere that over 3" could/will damage the CV's ...
Also, your flares are spot on - what'd ya do there? Mine are faded & even flaking (plastic flaking?).

I'm probably about to ask questions/advice on a topic that's been asked hundreds of times; but, I've read so much - across three forums - that, I'm about as confused as before I started.
Background - I've managed to pick myself up a '04 Liberty Sport (Gas, 4x4, 3.73's) at a Salvage Auction...
