    I've got another possible reason towards the "why they changed to a weaker tranny". The weaker 42RLE is likely smaller than the 45RFE. Take a good hard look at the size of the passenger footwell of the 02 and compare it to the 03's made after July 01, 2003 (when they changed to the 42RLE)...

    I've got an 04 Limited with no ABS. ABS was not a standard feature on ANY of the Liberty's of that generation AFAIK (05's and up probably have it as a standard option). Personally I searched high and low for a Limited without ABS. It's just what i wanted. I finally found mine about 600 miles...

    Summer detaling.

    Yep, not much can help that vehicle :-) I always clean the engine area with the vehicle running and just avoid really soaking the battery and computer/fuse area. I've never had success with restarting after washing them if I don't keep them running.
