    Valve replacement how-to? Help Troubleshoot?

More than cheap...$250 is dirt cheap to be up and running in short order. Ours completely quit one frigid morning after running fine the night before. Busted valve spring (crap design). Dealer said the head was not rebuildable and thru Jeep was a full assembly part - which I thought was baloney...

    Brake lights not working

Ok, explains why there's no ice cubes over there...it's the electrical dudes fault.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Thanks for the thread! When we did our first warranty service at the dealer my wife - in fairly direct terms - told the service guy to turn the thing off because it was annoying. No self-respecting off-roader likes a nanny in their Liberty dinging at you to put the seat belt on. :disgust:

    Brake lights not working

Needed that! Funnier than all get out.:happy175: (Ok, I admit it, it's an engineer thing.)

I now have a Ferrari killer

Sounds like you could use some Liberty therapy...find a muddy road and have at it. Nothing better. (Ever see an unhappy Liberty driver with mud on his tires?) :waytogo:

I now have a Ferrari killer

Nah, I wouldn't sweat it....guys here are pretty reasonable even if there's a disagreement. Heck, Optima batteries are great tech and an excellent product because of that, but apparently quality has gone downhill...not sure why that would be other than maybe they switched to an overseas...

    Roadtrip prep

Fix-a-flat or a mini portable compressor and tire plug kit (just in case of two flats). Portable jumper for those times when the battery decides to quit. 5 gallon container of water.

Freaking keep getting locked out my Jeep!!!!

Just curious on the outcome...whether the alarm is the cause?

That a good unit...thanks. Mounted on the passenger side of the console I presume?

'07 Front 12v Power Outlet Question

Our 2007 outlet stays on when the key is off. In fact, this became a problem because a phone charger or multioutlet power LED would draw just enough milliamps (as in, almost zero power) that the vehicle computer would stay on - which drew a lot of power - then it'd kill the battery. Really dopey...

    turn signal not working

Sounds like the turnsignal stalk is the culprit...check the connectors and/or wiring underneath the dash.

    Brake lights not working

I assume you haven't recently changed the bulbs? If so maybe they are the wrong types. If not I would check whether there is power getting to the light sockets. The interesting part is the center brake works - I was thinking the actuator switch at the pedal is not working correctly, otherwise I...

    Driver Window Troubleshoot HELP

Always start with the easy stuff, then start tearing into the hard stuff. If you aren't old enough, the best way to fix a TV used to be to whack it on the side...fixed nearly every problem.

    Driver Window Troubleshoot HELP

My add to everyone else: pull the switch and check for continuity. If you hit the switch and don't hear anything from the door cavity, then the motor isn't getting power...so switch, wiring, fuse, would be the main culprits if all the mechanicals are good. From Slingblade, "Can't start this...

I now have a Ferrari killer

Must be MPH wheelin' down Everest! :happy175: (Altho, doubtful the terminal velocity of a Liberty would be 204mph.) Either that or the Kenwood is programmed for the latest model Jeep: the Liberty-Bugatti Veyron Hybrid.

God another problem, fuel gauge reading wrong now

Yup, supposed to have 4 gallons when the light goes on, but once our gauge hits the 1/4 tank mark the needle drops like a rock...getting to 1/8th of a tank in less than 30 miles. Before larger tires I used to comfortably get 400 highway miles to the tank...which is what I used when the gauge got...

Freaking keep getting locked out my Jeep!!!!

Ok, nice job...this is helpful. The 5mph locking (which is fully annoying, but s.b. 15mph) is a telltale sign something is up. The good news is all this can be customized by you with a sequence, or at the dealer. When we had the rolling locks reprogrammed "off", we also had our dealer turn off...

Freaking keep getting locked out my Jeep!!!!

No kidding...all trying to figure this thing out from afar. Amazing the Dealer didn't try a few more things real time (like resetting the computer...maybe it's scrambled). The mysterious part is why only the drivers door? Ours only locks the rear hatch when driven, never the 4 doors. A real head...

Freaking keep getting locked out my Jeep!!!!

So forgetting my engineering brain for a second...that's just whacked. Truly a mystery. Wonder if the previous owner had this problem?
