I had some time today, I cut the rust out of the outer rockers and did trimming for clearance in all 4 wheel wells without taking out any uniframe meat. Passenger side inner rocker was in bad shape too so I had to improvise. No more rubbing whatsoever, rust treated in the process. More clearance...- Apex

I totally understand all of that, but to me a wider stance looks better. I guess it boils down to preference, but probably doesn't hurt the stability either. With 3.5 inches of lift and say, 265/75/16s (31.7"), you'll probably still be rubbing at the pinch welds with new tires, especially ones with aggressive tread, even with proper wheel backspacing. 32's & 3" lift
To the OP..... With OME lift, .5 clevis spacer rings in front and two extra upper spring isolators in the rear, I clear 265/75/16s on an 8" wide wheel. Pound your pinch welds as much as you can, might as well lose the front dust covers too and undercoat/bedline your wheel wells. Be prepared...- Apex

Ironically enough I worked on my valve covers today too, but I was just tightening them down. I changed gaskets out a year or so ago, I needed to snug them up. Those rearward nuts/bolts are quite tough aren't they lol I used U-joint extensions and such but on that last one passenger side I...- Apex

Custom Front Bumper

Front Drive shaft length
I second CzarKJ's opinion, I bought that very same CV joint from that very same website. It's the rearward CV on the front prop shaft that usually goes bad. Mine sounded like santa's sleigh before I changed it out lol. It'd be a good idea to buy or borrow some snap ring pliers for the job too...- Apex

Top spacer plate question
I put the .500" clevis spacer from JBA with the 927s up front and so far no problems. It was to match height with the two extra isos in the rear. I'm replacing my LCA/steering rack bushings soon so I might order new CVs, have a buddy machine them down for me, and do the top plates while I'm at...- Apex

Lift on high mileage KJ?
If it's mechanically sound engine and transmission wise I'd go for it. That factory suspension at 180k has long since been shot, you'll be amazed at how much better your KJ corners when you lift it. Just do yourself a favor and replace your lower ball joints with the Moog ones with the grease...- Apex

My setup will invariably be different from yours because of said basket but I'm sure good ideas can be shared. Things to keep in mind though, are rod handle diameter and reel type. Installed new Strong Arm hood lift props, swapped rear rotors/pads and changed PB shoes. Finally fixed front passenger window reg after two years of it being blocked up. Swapped out power window module. Been sitting on the install for my 927s/948s and 90009s/60069s since black friday last year...- Apex

Left rear window failed!
