    2004 Possessed by The Devil

I have similar issues with mine - but I believe its key related. I had two keys with fobs made 2 years ago. One I used all the time, the other sat on my dresser as a spare. Finally the battery in the one I use all the time began to fail. The spare, sitting there, never been used, also had a...

    Dead Jeep issue

I would agree. My guess is a poor battery ground or a loose cable (if the battery is known to be good and tested under load) that is preventing/limiting the juice getting to the starter. Poor grounds can be a giant PIA to find until you start looking for them and they can cause all sorts of...

    3.7 oil crud probelm

Actually it seems to have become more common in the past 10-15 years as manufacturers had advised longer oil change intervals only to learn how poorly their engines actually perform outside a lab. Check out the failure rate of the GM 3.6, the Chrysler 2.7, 3.7 and 4.7, the Ford 5.4 cam phasers...

    Window Regulator Replacement.....Another ???

I'd replace the entire assembly. So far I've done three of the 4 windows on my 2005.

When will the KJ become as accepted

As seen on the back of my son's IH Scout 800: :happy175: Jeeps are cool, Barbie owns one.

    3.7 oil crud probelm

If they were changing the oil every 4-5K miles it still shouldn't look like that. My fear is that after you go through a lot of effort to get the sludge and gunk cleaned out of the system after a year of driving and "normal" oil changes you'll be back to where you are. I am guessing a seeping...

    Jack Handle suggestions please

Cool, except you still can't change a flat tire.

    Jack Handle suggestions please

Tow strap, jumper cables, extra parts and tool box with 100# of tools - and that's just to drive to work.

    3.7 oil crud probelm

Have you pulled a valve cover to see what you are dealing with? Much easier than pulling the oil pan. Sludging isn't uncommon by any stretch in the 3.7 and 4.7 engine. If it is sludged up I wouldn't bother trying to repair. The direct swaps are 2005 and 2006 (I believe). Problem is every...

    Jack Handle suggestions please

Could you even use a high lift jack with factory Liberty bumpers? I still use mine on Ford PUs - but the lift points on the front is the D hooks.

    Keeping undercarriage rust-free???

Have leaky transmission and keep adding fluid. Going down the road 70 MPH will leave a nice fresh film on everything.

    New to the KJ world

Seafoam is actually one of the few fuel additives I would recommend, its done some good work for me with engines that had issues with old fuel. Never heard of Techron so I won't comment. With only 39K does it still have the original plugs? If so I'd swap them out immediately. NGKs are the...

What did you do to your jeep today?

200K out of the springs. We also have a ready list of buyers for our vehicles both dealers and individuals - that's why we never trade. I might just have a bit more experience with this than you might imagine. My personal experience with Jeep products has been short - my own Liberty and 2...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Having owned better I expect better. We normally average 200K out of Chevy 1500s and Ford F150s before selling and usually pay for one set of shocks. In over 4 million fleet miles the last 5 years one Chevy needed new rear springs - as a result of abuse. I'm really surprised that people think...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Just curious - how long does the suspension last on your Ford and GMC pickups before needing to be rebuilt?

    Owners Manual Compartment Usage

Debit cards are great - until someone gets your pin and someday someone will. They'll clean your account out and leave you in OD. If you fight and protest enough eventually the bank MIGHT get your money back. In the mean time you better have some cash set aside to live on. Credit cards are...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I own (and owned) good tow vehicles, I doubt even with a rebuilt and re-engineered suspension that I would call a Liberty a "good" tow vehicle. I was just surprised how poor it actually was.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Agreed - its a suspension problem. I just need to remember it's a grocery getter and forget about it.
