You probably washed loose some sound deadner , the CRDs have alot more of it than gas KJs. If I remember right there is a piece of sound deadner on the underside of the transmission tunnel.
Would like to compare my CRD to a gas KJ to see where all they added the sound deader that the gasers...
I have the same size on mine 245/70/16 and the speedometer show 1 mph slower than I'm going---speedo shows 60 I'm really going 61 . I can live with that (biggrin)
It because your Rennie has the standard all-season tire(Goodyear wrangler ST) for the KJs and your Limited came with the All-Terrains(Goodyear Wrangler SR-A, still can't imagin how Goodyear can call them an "all-terrain" tire).
The only real difference in size is that the 235/70/16s are 10mm...
KJLad,
The above mentioned use of 4-lo was in a manual trannyed '88 Ranger , with was another reason for 4-lo(no power and maual) to keep clutch slip to a minumum. Usual start in LO and 3rd gear and that way could go both up and down in the gears without stoping, have used the same trick in...
I have used 4-Lo when in mud and real deep snow at times. Because when I stopped moving (usually just easing through stuff), I could put it back in 4-Hi and have the extra wheel speed I needed to get myself out of what I'd gotten into. At time like that if I would have been in 4-Hi to start with...
Are you sure that your Rennie has 235/75/16s on it all the one I looked at had 235/70/16s on them, AFAIK the only 75 series tire offered in '05 was the 225/75/16s like I replaced.
EDIT: just dug up my '05 brochure and it lists 235/70/16s for the Rennie package (biggrin)
All the above works for me , if you go in for work under warranty just put factory airbox back on , remove program and since I've never seen a stealership grip about a cat-back exhaust leave it on.
You need a bigger alternator to run the lights and stuff. All the battery does is act as a storage unit(for starting and powering stuff when engine shut off) and a source or reserve power is the alternater is not keeping up.
Heres a place to check out...... www.h-o-alternators.com/alternators.htm
Depends on one's , well how should I put this........how big a set of balls you got will determine that (biggrin) .............or in somecases I've seem their lack of common sence 8-[
4 part time is not meant to be used on pavement or any other hard surface!!!!!!!!! The part time mode is meant to be used in conditions where there is a slip so the powertrain doesn't bind up and it will end up breaking things(expensive ones at that).
Even in snow, sand or mud in 4 part time to...
