I have one of these 3 ton aluminum jacks. I used it on a daily basis and the hydraulic seals went bad after about a year. I replaced the seals and have since only use it on road calls for these past 3 years without fail.
It is a handy jack. Nice and light. Easy to maneuver. doesn't take up...
I work at a pro shop as well.....a strut is infact referenced as a structural part of the suspension system......this is fact.....a shock is simply a shock absorber......everybody is correct.......lets eliminate the label of a shock/strut......they both do the same thing....a simple shock...
I'm test light certified.
One thing to consider is not only which fuse has ignition switched power, but also which of the fuse blades has the power coming into the fuse. Any power accessory you install should have it's own fused power supply wire and NOT be using the power coming 'out' of the...
Kinda looks like some place near me....... But, yes.....could be photoshop'd. Here's a couple pictures near me....the rocks look like the same material
The rust, though it isn't too bad right now, what about in 3 or 5 years. The rust forming at the upper control arm mount location is terminal. And one of the other pics, it looks like rust is forming near a double walled reinforced area underneath the Jeep. Two of the worse places to have rust...
FYI.....those lower control arms.....they're expensive. The Jeep dealership wanted $800. There are three bushings in each LCA. Dealership price for each bushing was $35.......so $35x6=$210 The dealership wouldn't press the bushings into the LCA's. I ended up having a small machine shop...
This could have been me......I purchased a Libby for my daughter a while back and had a real bad clunk coming from the front end. I did replace the clevis bushings in the LCA's which eliminated most of the clunk. I also found a clunk coming from the intermediate shaft......where the inner c/v...
This might be one of those cases where it would be a good idea and throw some money towards a good shop for a diagnostic evaluation. Maybe the ECM maps need to be reprogrammed.
Pull the serpentine belt off and try to rotate the engine.......I bought a convertible IROC Camaro one time with a "seized" motor.....I towed it home and found that the alternator wasn't spinning freely. Once I removed the belt and turned the key, the engine fired right up......Paid $800 for the...
Can't you cycle the ignition key from the Off to the Run positions 3 times........and on that third time, leave the key in the RUN position and any codes present (or pending) wil show up in the odometer display
Look at the pictures a little closer.....the sway bar has moved towards the drivers side of the Jeep.
Lateral movement.
I don't know what could cause this situation other than parking the front tire on a tree stump to take pictures and the flexing motion pulled the sway bar towards the...
If the sway bar bushings are shot and this is going to be used primarily as your hunting/camping you could just remove the sway bar.
Exhaust manifold leak could be due to a broken manifold bolt.....happened to my daughters Liberty.
If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for your Jeep?
Yes, that is what vehicle manufacturers do......it adds mass to an object to prevent vibration resonance. Sometimes weight is added to a vehicle in order to meet a certain countries safety standards or to put the vehicle into a certain weight class, and in some cases such as my fathers old 1992...
What is the clearance gap behind the a/c clutch plate?
You can remove the clutch plate....look at the backside, and check for damage. Replacement clutch plates cost around $35
No biggie. First one took 10 minutes to get it installed......second one took 30 seconds.
Basically, when installing the new bulb, it is easiest to pop the bulb in the headlight housing first (the rubber o-ring on the bulb will hold it in place) then install the lock-ring, then push on the...
