Sounds like a boondoggle. I would think the alternator already has a cable that provides for it's rated output. Now grounds I can see, but only in the area of power usage.
The white tab on mine (2005) was on the air/vent line that goes through the hole in the frame and plugs into the steel pipe next to the gas filler hose. The white tab was perpendicular to the hose/connector. See the arrow pointing to the steel pipe in the picture? The connector hooks to that...
Well, I filled a half tank with gas cans after putting everything back in and no splash back... ;) OK, so the real test comes today when I take it to the station and fill the tank at full speed. At least I know I didn't put the GM device in backwards. I will report back...
While waiting for help getting my fuel pump module ring back on tight I attacked another issue while the jeep was in the garage. When we bought it the passenger side bumper fog light housing was broken and held on by a zip tie. I had tried to replace it but the bolt was seized and broke...
While waiting for help with the fuel module install...decided to install the back splash preventer from GM. Cut the little valve out of the GM hose. Paying particular attention to the orientation of the valve, applied WD-40 to slick everything up and then pushed the valve just past the bend in...
New fuel module is in. Ginned-up a makeshift spanner (with mechanical advantage supplied by a 2x4) to get the module locking ring back into place. Failed. Tried a hammer and punch. Failed. Got a bigger hammer...failed again. Currently waiting for a neighbor to get home so I can apply both...
Currently (today) in process of changing fuel filter (dropping the tank) and installing the GM anti splashback door in my filler hose before I tighten her all back up. Photos of progress on the main forum page in fuel splashback thread and also fuel pump replacement thread.
So those lines and the electrical connections are probably the worse part of this job. Have I EVER told you how much I HATE those little red safety locks on the electrical connectors? Any time you are in an awkward position they are almost impossible to release. The important thing to...
Finally there! I have to remove the fuel tank and replace the module, but when I put everything back together I will insert the GM "flapper valve" into this hose. I found that my plastic inner fender was only held on by 3 plastic push-in single use tabs (see pic) into the frame behind the tire...
Thanks I will use WD40. For what it's worth, I find myself doing this now because of a fuel pump failure. Our Lib has around 180k miles so I am replacing the entire assembly inside the tank (called fuel module). Auto parts stores around here (NY) wanted $379 for the module. I checked Rock...
OK, I am resurrecting this because the fuel pump just went out on my daughter's KJ. I currently have the hitch and skid plate off and am trying to coax the filler hose off the tank so I can drop it to replace the fuel module in the tank. I figure I may as well install the GM flapper valve...
Anyone know if a 2005 Libergade would have this removable plate? I have no fuel pressure at all. There is 12v getting to the pump. I have to measure whether or not the ground to the fuel pump is getting through the PCM and if so, replace probably the whole module... Hope it has the plate....
Will do. Looks pretty simple. I intend to slip heatshrink tubing onto the wires and twist them together letting the shrink tube slide back over the joint holding them apart. When all is verified well, I will slip the shrink off and solder the joints and then slip the shrink tube back over the...
Got all the Metra stuff from BestBuy. Now waiting for the temp to climb a bit so I don't shatter the dash piece by trying to remove at 5 degrees. Thanks everyone for all the info.

There are different spec resistors in that resistor pack for creating each fan speed. Any or all of them can go leaving you with any combo of remaining speed/s.
