    It is probably the rev limiter kicking in. I think it kicks in before redline if you are in just revving the engine in park or neutral. I have a CRD so Im not sure what the redline is on a gasser, but our other cars will do what you describe if they arent in gear.

    It does stay on once you turn it on, but it goes off when you shut off the ignition and you have to turn it back on again when you restart. I havnt heard of a workaround for this one yet.

    Just remember that you wont have Antilock Brakes either. Kinda obvious I suppose but you cant disable the ESP without affecting ABS by just pulling the fuse.

    The closest thing you can do to a body lift would be a cradle drop for the front. It can cause its own problems but there are a few..very few that have done it. If you want some more info let me know... I will go dig it up.

    You know you will have to change both front and rear right? The best you will be able to do is 4:10 but I would imagine that 3:73 would work for 31's fairly well. You probably already have 3:73's though unless you have the 6 Speed. More info here...
