Its just a game of "how slow can you go" the higher the ratio the slower your vehicle will creep along at a given RPM. Slow is good when you want to take your time and have control of exactly what your tires are doing. Rock crawling is a prime example....to fast on a certain obstacle and you...
I had noticed yesterday that one of the tires on my car would clear the tread of snow much easier than the other one. Both spinning on the same surface...everytime I checked one would be clear and the other one was packed with snow. Tuns out the one that was clear was low on pressure. I think...
Unless you absolutly must have a locker I would suggest Truetrac Front and Rear. You already Have ESP. The truetrac wouldnt give you any of the noises and handling issues that a locker would. Although it is untested as far as I know, Its my opinion that the ESP truetrac combo would be NEARLY...
I will agree with that for the most part. I have never locked out OD unless I was towing, or just messing around. And I have had 3 or 4 cars go over 200K on the same tranny, and Im not good about tranny service either.
BUT I dont think you should rely on the little light to tell you if...
I think it would be okay. An EVEN coat of bedliner shouldnt throw the balance off so far that it couldnt be fixed on a good computerized balancer. I would say it should be done professionally though.
I agree with this theory as well, even though you may be in bumper to bumper traffic..if that traffic is moving at a range of speeds that doesnt make you tranny constantly kick in and out of OD then it wont hurt a thing. Just be conscious of what your tranny is doing and lock out OD if you...
I WOULD say get whichever one you like the best, either would do great for the driving you mentioned.....BUT, to me the CVT is unproven as of yet. I would wait to see how it is going to hold up before I made my decision. So if you cant wait, get the liberty, also get the liberty if you think...
Nope, just enough to get the juices flowing...anything beyond that is a waste of fuel. Of course there are times when you want a warm vehicle or defrosted windows but it isnt necessary to let a vehicle warm up...just take it easy for a little ways and you are good to go.
I dont know how quiet the LR was, but the VM 2.8 does sound more like a traditional old style diesel, its not quite as refined as some.
And to answer your question Kjpilot...for me its a toss-up between the noise and the smell. Its a diesel thing...you wouldnt understand.
I think the uniframe actually angles towards the back in relation to the body...they are not parallel. So the mounts should actually be different lengths to compensate.
Hey, did you see that little munchkin tryin to steal your hose! LOL
We sure wouldnt be running around in shorts this time of the year up here.
Nice looking Jeep, I havnt seen many at all near 10K especially a Limited.
From what I have learned from others and read myself, it seems wise to make this a once a year right before winter ritual. Unless you are really packing on the miles, then every 20-25K unless you get some bad fuel. I think I will do the once a year deal myself.
All it takes is longer bumpstops to fix it? That is my understanding. If you go in knowing that then the lift is just fine. So the kit is not junk, like say the RK 7up kit was. It just needs a longer bumpstop. It still wouldnt be my lift of choice though.
