clicking in 4x4

yeah, started pretty much after the lift. It's the least of my problems now though....I broke down and had to get towed today. Same exact thing happened again that led to my $2800 upper engine rebuild 3,000 miles ago!! Started running rough out of nowhere, check engine light started flashing...- hectikart

Thanks for the info. I'm getting new duratracs hopefully in the not too distant future, so at the same time I'll have them balanced and do an alignment...Hopefully that will take care of it. I'm only sitting at about 21.5, maybe 22 at the most in the rear. I haven't noticed any shaking in the...- hectikart

Long Island snow
yup...made out better than my neighbor across the street though...his grand cherokee is still stuck in the middle of his driveway. Had a TJ and a Dodge Ram parked behind him earlier today...I don't know if they couldn't pull him out or what. We got rain today, and now everything is a huge...- hectikart

So recently I've noticed what I can only describe as a strange rumble/vibration that only happened while I am between 50-55mph. also, does the noise get faster/slower according to your speed or is it constant? If it's changing according to your speed it might even be a bad u-joint. That's something to take care of ASAP, don't want to drop your driveshaft on the highway.- hectikart

If it is the driveshaft CV it should be fine, just done use 4wd. You can actually completely remove the front driveshaft and still drive around no problem as long as you keep it in 2wd. First thing to do would be to check the boot on the CV joint for tears, see if there's any grease around it...- hectikart

x2. Front Driveshaft CV is notorious for causing 4wd problems. Were the roads just wet or still snow covered? Could have bound things up if you had too much traction.- hectikart

Big storm for Northeast
So apparently my neighbor across the street it mentally challenged... His driveway is completely unplowed...we got about 30" of snow...and it has drifted to easily 48"+ in many areas. He tries to pull into his driveway in an older stock Grand Cherokee. Needless to say, it did not go well for...- hectikart

Advice Please
I just hit 90,000 today and in the past 4 months have spent around $3000 between the radiator and rebuilding the upper engine. That being said...I still love my KJ, and my next vehicle will be another jeep. Besides really one major problem (dropped a valve that lead to the upper engine...- hectikart

x2....why are you going 100+mph in a Jeep....slow down do you mean 100km/h? since you said you're OD reading in KM....that would be more reasonable and you may have a problem.- hectikart

Big storm for Northeast
Are you down near Quincy? I have friends down there who said the entire town lost power. My brother on the cape still has no power. We got hammered with like 30" of snow, spent all day yesterday, and this morning trying to get the driveway cleared...but at least we didn't lose power here.- hectikart
