Timing chain tensioner
Thank you for the reply and input. I finally settled on Cloyes timing chain and tensioner set. I am going to reuse the gears and sprockets. The deciding factor was being able to hear the chain riding against metal, it sure escalated quickly. It's parked now. Also, doing the water pump...- John P.

fan clutch recommendations
I tried aftermarket fan clutches and none of them worked properly. The one you mentioned would keep the fan running all the time until you hit around 3500 rpm, it would shut off but then repeat back on when stopped again. Tried a Murray one also from O'Riley auto parts and it did the same thing...- John P.

Cooling fan questions
I had the same issue, mine was caused by a broken serpinten belt. It broke the wires that plugged into the fan- John P.

Heat only hot when all the way up.
Are your controls the dial type? I would start by checking the connectors to be sure they are securely locked in. If they are, I would replace the HVAC control unit. Relatively cheap to source used. I wouldn't think the actuator would be the problem since it has full range and you've replaced...- John P.

Won't start - Various issues
My first thought would be to have a new key programmed for it, erase all the old keys. Sounds like a security issue- John P.

Wheel Adapter Needed?
Just an add on, I run a 245-65-17 on stock and it comes very close to rubbing. About a little over a 1/4 clearance from the front fender.- John P.

Long term reliability
I have a 2011 KK. It's been a good reliable vehicle so far for the 2 years I've owned it. In 20k miles the only real mechanical failure was the fan clutch. Maintenance wise I have replaced rear brakes and rotors including new parking shoes and hardware, transmission pan, oil pan, sway bar links...- John P.

Remote start wont work but starts with key 2012 liberty
With mine all doors and hood have to be closed and locked. Then I hit the button three times and it chirps and then starts. When the sensor falls down it ends up right below the horn. At least last time I had it apart to replace my fan clutch. It will not start if there's a check engine light...- John P.

Remote start wont work but starts with key 2012 liberty
Mine has remote start also and I have to push 3x for start. The safety switch is located to the left of the battery on the core support. It is black about the size of a golf ball. It is a simple squeeze tab that holds it in place and it can fall down from it's position quite easily.- John P.

Hi and good afternoon, with a vacuum leak and your brake pedal becoming firm I would check the vacuum line going from the intake to the brake booster. Accidental 4W lo to 2wd no neutral while moving <3 mph
Did the engine stall when this happened? And did you you cycle back to 4low from neutral and shift back to 2w high properly after it happened? The clunk from the rear I wouldn't worry about. The sudden attempted shift probably caused some wheel slip causing Trac light and esp light. The squeal...- John P.

If it helps I get to the UCA bolts from the top, just like changing the strut. It's been awhile so I'm not sure why I decided to do it that way. Anyway, hope it doesn't give you too much grief.- John P.

What engine to put in my KJ?
If your keeping it for long term and it is acceptable I would go with a Jasper engine. Otherwise, I would buy a used one from LKQ or something and install it. I'm sure others will comment soon.- John P.

does my cylinder wall need repair?
IMHO If I was short on cash and absolutely needed the Jeep to run I would purchase a known good used engine and swap it. Used can be had for $800 or less then borrow or rent a cherry picker. It's real easy to get into big bucks playing the "While you're there game".- John P.
