Looking for good brake pads and rotors

I went with the power stop daily driver set and couldn't be happier -- but we do not off road. Whatever you go with go ahead and get your parking brake shoes. Mine were totally gone.

    Oil question

I have never had it come loose in 3000-3500. i never change my oil that frequently. I go 5000. I did pick up mobile 1 and a sweet K&N filter. That set up go 10K. Not on a liberty without getting lose and leaking. You can argue with me all you want about needing to change oil after 3500...

    Oil question

Oil filters on these jeeps loosen over time and leak, especially if you push your oil change to 5000. Visibly look at the area around your oil filter. Reach down there and see if you can tighten it. I hope this is your problem.

    Odd Noise After Brake Job

When I did my 06 the parking brake shoes had absolutely not pad and were just thin pieces of rust. But if your were not making noise before, you could have a sticking caliper.

New altrernator (178,000) and while i was at it, new plugs. I was way overdo for plugs - bad Jeepop! I have had the plugs sitting around for over a year. Also, a while back after she hit a deer, when I went to put on a new grill she wanted to paint it a weird color. We compromised on...

2006 KJ - Click, no crank

Cleaned my battery cables and still measured a significant voltage drop from the battery terminal to 1 inch away on the battery cable. Get a VOM meter and measure your current. If good, before you purchase the starter, get a breaker bar and give it a tap after someone else turns the key...

Jeep Wont Start. Need some help in a bad way

How are your wires. Get your volt meter out and measure the current at the battery post, at the connector, and then going into the wire. Also measure while started. Old connectors can cause a voltage drop. Had to cut some wire and put a new terminal on ours to get a good strong connection.

A/C not working - no cold air

I figured it out, you can too. Mine leaked right in the middle of the compressor body. Thus, I knew it had no gas in it. Different story if yours is loaded with gas and not leaking. I got a kit that came with all new o rings, compressor, dryer. Rock Auto sells them. Removed compressor...

Lack of heat in an '03

There is a good youtube video about how to flush the heater core. Put a trash bag over the fuel injectors and ignition coils first. Flushing the heater core fixed ours. It will melt the wool on your toes now.

    mis-fire after heater core replacement

This happened to mine after I flushed my heater core. I pulled out both ignition coils in the back on that side. Both where dry. I used some spray cleaner I have for electrical sockets on the clips, and wiggled the fuel injector electrical connector too. Cleared it up. If I was in your...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I just put a pry bar into the studs on the hub and loosened it easily with a breaker bar. I painted the 3 torx bolts with a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone the day before. They were quite rusted. I did all kinds of tests to try and figure out which one was making the noise Noise seemed...

Ours was doing this. Had those crappy Lead bolt on terminals. There was a voltage drop after it in the ground wire. I cut out an inch and put on a new terminal. I also removed one bolt form the heat shield at the starter pulled it out of the way and cleaned and re-attached the starter wires...
