If the 06 still has a transmissions dipstick you can do like me and suck as much fluid as you can out of the ****** before you start pulling bolts. There will still be a good bit of fluid to catch but you can get half it out first.
Of my local autoparts stores, for the 13 bolt I liked the...
Murphy's law -- if you fix it you will never need it but if you don't you are going to find yourself needing 4-wheel drive real soon.
You don't need a cover just hit with brake cleaner and some rags when you reinstall.
3.7? How many miles? 4x4? Rust?
Liberty's were selling for about $2000 here when Biden was sworn in, now they seem to be $4000-5000 around me. That is usually high miles, various states of wear and tear with lots of the typical things replaced -- AC system, suspension, alternator, water...
I will try that thanks. Lower ball joints the play was easy to feel. Boots torn up good too. Its got 188K so if TRW are original I guess they need to come out. My bump stops are non existent. Not sure when they came out.
I have the steering knuckles out to replace the ball joint. I got the new greaseable ones in. My old ones were shot.
Unlike my tie rods and new ball joints, the bolt coming out of the upper control arm moves really freely. It has no vertical movement nor friction, but both sides I just can...
I found it easier to remove the propeller shaft on my 06 4X4 before removing the starter.
Also, I got better bite on the prop shaft bolts with a 5/16th vs a 8 mm socket.
Are you doing yourself -- or having the shop doing them?
If you are doing yourself, I picked up a power stop front and back brake pack from Rockauto a couple of years ago and could not be happier about the performance. If your calipers are not hung up not sure why you would need to replace...
Hey -- great looking Liberty bye the way! Our Jeeps look a lot alike. After hitting a deer I just put in a black grill in our khaki green Jeep. I don't have the black rims though.
Bluedriiver is the amazon scan tool that showed which ABS sensor was kicking in.
You need a new mechanic. Yours either has no diagnostic skills or just wanted lots of labor charges to pay some bills. He sounds like a boarderline ole crook to me.
So your initial problem sounds like what my Jeep was doing when one of the ABS sensors was bad. The front ABS sensors that I had were not too old and came with new front hubs. So I did not think it was them. I was able to borrow a better scan tool that attached to you phone that also showed...
Rebuild. Todd has given the link for the rebuild parts in several threads. With the money you save buy a good snap ring tool and you will still have tons of $$ left for a tank of gas.
Enough threads out there and statements that Jeep redesigned to kind of show the rear patriot mopar bearings were subpar. I have 2 jeeps not a jeep hater, but when a part is **** a part is ****.
So the Patriot needs a new rear wheel bearing. Wish the Jeep was home to do myself versus across the country.
I guess Jeeps are designed so bearings are a wear item. First thing I did when we got our used Liberty were the two front bearings. Patriot has less than 40K and its going. Seems...
Brilliant! **** why did I not think off that.
Autozone batteries have done fine for me. Not as good as the Wall world battery, though, and the Wally world battery is cheaper.
FYI I hate going to Wallmart. I do not mind driving to the back of the store and walking in the auto service door...
Correct, Interstate from Costco is not the same quality as Interstate from a dealer. Big box store quality over the last several years since Costco changed to Interstate is Everstart Maxx.
I have not tried AGM in a car/truck. I have had no need to. I did try in my boat for a house battery...
The Interstate that you can get at costco now is not as good of a battery as the ones from them prior.
I have four of the wallmart batteries all doing great right now. I only have a year experience though with their deep cycle in one of my boats so I cannot vouch for their deep cycle yet...
Upper sockets look OK but get totally burnt. Switch middle and upper socket to problem solve.
Also, look for plastic melted under socket which can seat the metal tab into the socket.
