    New here with 06' liberty

Bend out the tabs in the socket for a temp fix. Buy new sockets for a lasting fix. I think I got a couple of dorman replacement parts and they have done great.

Welcome to club 06! My ball joints failed. The rear joint of the propeller shaft also fails often.

Help identify source of an oil leak

That area is wet in mine and its the power steering hose. Wipe down the back of the power steering pump where the hoses go in. It is a very slow leak, hardly moves the level of the power steering reservoir. The other fun leak on the front is the front main seal and it will send oil down the...

    transmission oil change

What I did with my used Liberty, is I used my miti vac fluid vacuum to suck out about 3 quarts ever oil change and gradually renewed the fluid. After the fluid looked and smelled better, I dropped the transmission pan and replaced the filter. That way there was no shock to the system.

    youtube show with 2 liberties

I came across this yesterday. They have less than $10K to buy a jeep then modify it. First episode has 2 Liberty's. Seems like it might be fun to keep track of.

    Starting A Thread About...Starters

My starter was intermittent like that for a couple of years. Early on I could get it to start by reaching in and jiggling the starter wires. I assumed it was the connections. Cleaned them up and it did not change, still occasionally did not start. After a couple of years like this it finally...

    Question about front end noise.

Its common for a little fluid to come out the first time it is removed. I swore my noise was not coming from the rear of the prop shaft too. But that is where the problem was. You will be rolling in 4WD again soon!

    Question about front end noise.

Sounds like my noise but it was the rear propeller shaft cv joint. I went so far to pull out the intermediate shaft of the front differential before I listened to the experts here and dropped the prop shaft (you can drive in 2 wheel drive without it). Drop the front propeller shaft and see...

    Starting A Thread About...Starters

Its not that hard. Removing the prop shaft is not that bad. Jack up one front tire so that you can rotate it, and then use your 4WD selector to freeze the alxe for when you need to break or tighten the bolt. There is a sticky on it once you click KJ General Discussion...

Anyone have their AC switch go bad

My check engine light cleared today confirming for me it was caused by the compressor causing the serpentine belt to bind

Anyone have their AC switch go bad

Well ... crap. Yesterday while switching to defrost to get it to kick in, one time I got a loud thump while engaging on the freeway. Check engine light came on (random misfire). Turned off air and drove home. Safely at home I went to defrost to kick in in again, got a thud as the clutch...

Anyone have their AC switch go bad

With the selector set to the upper vents of both upper and lower, my AC is intermittent. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. However, all I have to do to get the compressor to kick in and work is turn the switch to defrost. Then the AC kicks in. Are there some things to try, or...

    Power steering Level

Hi pressure power steering line tend to leak at the pump and turns the reservoir black and makes it hard to read. Clean it up and you should be able to read the level.
